N Biren with CAF and PD officials conduct market survey

With steady inflow of goods, stocks of many goods have recuperated to healthy levels and prices of certain essential commodities like onion, dal, potato, garlic etc have now dropped below the price fixed by the State Government.
This was discovered during a random spot survey conducted by CAF &PD Minister N Biren and his officials at Khwairamband Keithel this morning.
One grocery wholesaler who runs his business at Alu Gali said that onions were sold at Rs 26 per Kg, potato at Rs 16 per Kg, rice at Rs 11 per Kg and garlic at Rs 85 per Kg.
He also said that the presently available stocks of these goods would last for the next 10 days.
With continuous transportation of goods with security escorts, stocks of many goods have improved to healthy level.
Following arrangements by the Government to provide security escorts to transporters, transportation charge has been reduced by one rupee per Kg on the average, says a report.

Noting the fall in the wholesale prices of essential commodities at Khwairamband Keithel, the Minister appealed to all retailers not to sell these commodities at escalated prices.
Prices of commodities dropped from the abnormally high prices prevalent some days prevalent some days back following a decision taken by the Government at the Chief Minister's level to provide adequate security escorts to transporters for shipping in goods from outside the State.
Informing that allotted quotas of rice for BPL, AAY and APL are being provided to Tamenglong district, Biren stated that he has asked the Tamenglong Deputy Commissioner to furnish a detail report.
Stating that the State Government took opinions and suggestions of the Centre regarding the Sadar Hills issue, Biren maintained that the Government has been working to bring a solution to the issue.
