Non-Manipuris & poor labourers are made scapegoats

[ Thu, Aug 05, 2010 3:07 am ]

After two months of deadline of 31 May 10 when incidents in our state are happening against the proscribed outfit people, the scapegoats, (non-Manipuris & poor labourers) are in list of target. So as to improve upon their tarnished image in the public, the proscribed outfits are trying to create a softy softy ping pong atmosphere for themselves in our Kangleipak by giving deadlines & ultimatums.. Wow !! I think they were busy watching the football which matches resulted in the delay for giving deadline. Of course we should ponder for should this deadline end & should be equal for every one. It's a game like, people from our state staying outside and having a peaceful existence be called back today only & these non-Manipuris residing in our state be driven out. As it is, any untoward incident taking place whether lootings, killings extortion or passing demand notes by our so called protectors of our integrity should be put on trial... not for any great sacrifice by them, but for hindering and disturbing peace, prosperity, development, happiness and sigh of relief from our state. Nincompoops!! Always harassing the common man, whether non-local or local. How does it matter... all underground are the same.. Are they the actual liberators of our state or liberators of our lives? We believe the latter one is correct ..... We really dont want their humble and meek ways of calling themselves the liberators of our state...if they really think of us...then let them clear these blockades and help us to get the essential commodities for our survival... Think over this!!!!! How come a labourer from any place on this earth be called secret and enemy agent who is surviving on mouth to hand basis. There should be justice from our Government side to take care of people of Manipur whether locals or no-locals staying together for more than 100 years and what to talk of 1949 deadline ...... Deadline ends. If an RPF mans son or daughter get a good job or seat in a good college out side the state, do you think they will tell them not to go out side the state? What actually do they have in mind? Do they know? I doubt it.

Killing will never bring peace

[ Sat, Jul 31, 2010 8:27 am ]

Killing will never bring peace or freedom. It's time to think and look back to history of the world, how non- violence and table talk brought peace and solution to issues. Killing is disgusting and it will pile up more problems and enemity between people. Life is very precious and let's endeavor to rescue people from troubles and problems instead of killing. Give life a chance to live to the fullness, without fear and tension. Only then there will be prosperity in our state. Let our generation bring a change in the society, forgeting the past and forgiving each other. Stop killing in the name of freedom by fake freedom fighters and also stop fake encounters by the police or armies, where the protectors turns predators. If killing continues who will live on this earth (Manipur) ? Let's give hope for our children taking the role of peacemakers to bring a peaceful state and living together in harmony and love.

Stop Meitei on Meitei killing

[ Wed, Jul 28, 2010 7:45 am ]

KCP (City Meetei) , First of all you are senselessly killing innocent people in this century for money related issues and your organisation is using City Meetei ..Please don't use Meetei in your organisation as you are kiiling Meetei mother for your KCP. People do use their community name for the sake of development and you are killing your own innocent mother for your profit in kidnapping bussiness and sharing percentage. You are earning money from Meetei who are living in city that is your meaning of city meetei in KCP. Hope you better not use Meetei in your organisation name otherwise that will give bad name to our community. You are very advanced in taking money illegally among the valley organisation. Your day-to-day life is to ask money from Meetei living in the city.

Totally inhumane and against people's wishes

[ Mon, Jul 26, 2010 6:29 am ]

What the hell are these UGs thinking of? Do they have any idea what will be the future of our state if such type of extortion continues for a longer period? A threatening demand of Rs 30 lakh to a native who might have gone a long way to establish such industry is totally inhumane and totally against the wishes of the people. I am totally confused contemplating on what their jobs are? Extortion, threatening to media, hurling of bombs, what is there that we can proud of for their existence? On this point, insurgency group of Nagaland is much better and respectable than ours. They are less in number and highly recognized by Centre. They are also supported and approved by a large group of people and act for their people. One would like to know what their roles are in the recent imbroglio put up by the naga group supported later by NSCN (IM). Our people are used to the habit of earning money fast, easily and without much labour. We should appreciate and support those people who work to establish something which will be beneficial to our people and state. On the other hand, what protection has been giving by our state police on these matters? Their role in such situation is highly solicited by the people. Only they can combat them (UGs) and not by civilian. These happens due to the weak, incompetent and corrupted government and their bureaucrats.

Manipur is the killing field of innocent lives

[ Fri, Jul 16, 2010 5:17 am ]

It is right, Manipur is the killing field of innocent lives and the GoM and GoI is witnessing it on payment from time to time. UGs are mushrooming but not thirty thousand as yet, altogether in NE. They are all for demands, i.e. demand for demands, demand for tax, demand for ethnic homeland, demand for sovereignty, etc.etc. Whose is right, whose is wrong God knows. Where is the laymen and who are there who thought for the betterment of the people and the state without the influence of muscle power politics. MLAs, Ministers, MPS cannot donate their salaries for the people rather they are all contractors in the name of the people and the state. I have nothing but to say "Long Live Manipur".

How a person serving in a jail possess mobile phone

[ Fri, Jul 02, 2010 3:40 am ]

It is a very shameful news both for honourable 'Meira Paibi' who have been always there as a watchdog even late night to thwart such undesirable happenings in our society and occupy high reverence from the past, and of state police and concern officials of Sajiwa Jail who are kept on duty to keep vigilance on Nando. It is highly questionable how a person serving in a jail can possess mobile phone to contact people staying outside. It is a blatant negligence of state govt. or symbol of high connection of such scoundrel or murderer in our state who has lost all the rights to exist anywhere in the whole even in hell. There is no value or reason for his being alive. He must be awarded capital punishment immediately. I dont know why the cases over him are still pending. What the state police are doing all this time? Moreover, he had already confessed before public on the day of his apprehension that he was guilty of killing Luningla Elizabeth (along with James Kuki). This was the first case and other cases are accomplished while serving in jail!!! The heinous trend of extortion from civilian is well known and people have always been in fear of living in their own way. It is my sincere conviction that such evil system will eventually expatriate our learned, intellectual and resourceful people of Manipur who are much need for the development of our society in search of peace life.

Media need to follow-up on crimes

[ Thu, Jul 01, 2010 7:28 am ]

There has been enormous increase in homicide incidents in Manipur in the past few months, apart from all the gun related violence. No one knows whether police investigations are still going on Phayeng daughter-mother rape and murder case or if the case has been closed officially. There was a sudden protest demanding the arrest of the culprits and than it waned. The newspapers also reported the incident but with the end of the protest the newspapers also bid farewell. One of the surprising thing I find in newspapers in Manipur is that none of them seem to be following any case properly. For instance when a crime is committed the media only reports the event and what happens afterward is of less concern. Normally what newspapers do is follow cases and gives details of crimes as confessed by the culprits or statements given by the Police. In case if the crime is not solved newspapers can still reawaken short lived public memory . I am not aware whether it is being done due to lack of information or lack of space. Some of the crimes that has taken place has been almost solved after the accused surrendered or in rare occasion arrested by the police. But the motives and other details were/are not at all made known to the readers. I feel that it is really important to let the readers know the details and motives of every crime/criminals that has been solved. It might help in preventing or taking precaution from crime in future. And it will also be a small message to the masses that law still exist in the land. That they do not need to dismantle or destroy every culprits house thereby making innocent relatives and families' life a hell.

Lets fight in an intellectual way

[ Thu, Jun 17, 2010 7:17 am ]

This article "I will not suffer for your greed" really touch my heart. I was in my office I read this article and I couldn't resist my tears falling. And I hope this may not be the only family happening like this. I feel so safe living out side Manipur though my heart beats for Manipur. I just imagine my own story and get horrified if I was shoot by them on that night for nothing. That time my son was only 6 months old and when I came back next day from their place who call me for a talk, my wife said my son was finding me on the bed. That night also when they were introgating me for what I was not related and atlast when they put their gun in my head I just pray to god and remember my son's face but luckily nothing happen to me because the interogator also said I can't do any wrong as I was speaking very boldly without any fear , which normally a culprit doesn't do. Now I am not staying in Manipur after that incident I feel very lonely still I can live my life with my family very peacefully without fear but same time my parents who needs me there have been separated by them. Why do they do this if this call a freedom movement? Lets leave the gun and fight in an intellectual way, our own blood will be required and don't misused the blood for no reason.

Hurling bomb at home - a very shameful behavior

[ Wed, Jun 16, 2010 3:18 am ]

The repeated incidents of threatening govt. employees by hurling bombs to their belongings which is being carried out by certain underground groups to entertain their monetary demand is a very shameful and unwarranted behavior of insurgency groups. Financial help demanded from the people should be given with the complete consent of the people and not by mere threat. This will result into widening the gap between them and people. This type of unwanted situation which is prevailing in our state detest not only non-manipuries but also our own people to stay in our state and will consequently bring a serious impact to the future of our state.

I will not suffer for your greed

[ Thu, Jun 10, 2010 4:04 pm ]

I have a good friend and I am close to his family. Studied in the same institution and shared a good bond of friendship. He lost his father an year before.........but he hold himself together and never showed his tears. After a few months, his elder brother lost his life (in fact murdered, killed). He went out with a friend to the market one afternoon to visit a particular shop. Someone threw a live hand grenade inside the shop(guess who) killing him instantly. It was not aimed or targeted to him, but he was at the wrong place at the wrong time. But was this his fault? no, not at all. He has got a cute daughter.....around 3 years of age. I still remember on the day of the Shraad, his daughter said to me, papa laakla ga taan chaminadoi ne. kaka, papa do kaka gi mobile da phone tou wo. My friend broke down and fainted. This incident has been haunting my life. How many children will lose their parents like this? Is money enough to cover up the loss for the family? Is this the time to stop? Enough......its out of control, beyond our reach, to stop this. His grandmother waits every evening with a thali of rice to feed his grandson..........who is not going to come back. His mother beats her heart. For me, I pray that his soul be at peace. His daughter still doesn't know that her beloved papa has gone. He was a good man ........ someone that I respected and admired.

Even money can't buy life

[ Wed, Jun 09, 2010 8:45 am ]

Initially it was the lack of development which created conditions for the rise of insurgency, but now, ironically, insurgency itself is becoming the main reason for the lack of development. In Manipur, the man with a Gun is the King & he speaks & does and others listen & watch. If you say something against him ,you are dead. Even now I'm scared to say anything. I'm just expressing my feeling to bring atleast Peace for the people of Manipur if not economic development. Like other silent viewers I'm watching the Dying Manipur with tears in my eye. I remain silent because I know I will be in trouble from all angles if I try to do any chance in the existing system. I really feel hurt living in the condition & not able to help anyone. We all have mother, father, sisters & brothers with whom we played in our early life. Imagine how one will feel if his father/husband/brother is killed. You know kill means the END of life. You don't have the right to kill anyone. God send us to do something good & not to start extortion, torturing someone's family by killing their near & dear ones. We humans are here on this earth only for some years. Why not we live happily & peacefully. Aren't we brothers & sisters ? Let's us act as a Saver & not a Killer. Let\'s us spread love & not hatred. Let's take a path other than the killing agenda. In true sense, these outfits/Police are not loved by others except themselves. This is because of the activities being carried out by them. It be remembered that Life is very precious. Seems many don't understand the value of life. I love my life so much that today I've to be timid person. Even money can't buy life. Money cannot bring happiness. My request to all the persons, outfits, police, politicians to please stop killing & torturing human. Even after writing this much, the pain in my heart still exist. Please....... God Help Us.

Lets stop this massacre before it changes the Manipur History

[ Tue, Apr 27, 2010 5:43 am ]

My dear brothers in arms lets stop this inhuman act before its too late, we cannot bring any peace or development by killing and thrashing out all the non-manipuris from our motherland, already people in all the metro-politian cities like b'lore, delhi, mumbai etc considers our state as a small underdeveloped village ruled by barbarians and very unfortunately they are true upto a certain level, i beleive that if all the UG party leaves their arms down than definately the central govt wil extract all the defense armed forces from our states and without the naharol and the military froces we can finally see a far but a bright future, than big companies can extend their branches in manipur and their will be tremendous amount of job openings for almost everyone, we have lots of good talents in our state working for big MNC all over the country, just close ur eyes and imagine how would our manipur look like with all those MNC sky scrapers, multiplexes, mega malls etc we can live a wonderful life upto an international level, so all i want to say to our UG groups is that stop recuirting illiterate 3rd class kids who can hardly speak A,B,C... they wil do anything, anthing to drive a bike and wallet full of money, dont misuse these innocent kids, we all know that non of the qualified, talented and educated people will give up their precious life to join u, y should we?? wad are u doing for the welfare of our people? ur days are fastly coming to and end, their is still a small ray of hope for u people to survive, take it, its a sincere request, we are all brothers, originated from the same blood, lets be united, the time for using guns to bring peace is over.... lets save manipur before its too late.

Same thing will be happen to us also

[ Mon, Apr 26, 2010 4:07 am ]

I strongly opposed, about bad behaviours on non-manipuri in Manipur. I dont know what exactly they are thinking and doing. As a request of a Manipuri, please stop this kind of non-sense activities, because its affects on us, those who are working, study and setteled down in other outside states, if you do this kind of attitudes to other people, then why they are not to us???? Same thing will be happen to us also, then I will be the first person who stongly oppose to you people as a Manipuri.

Be careful Manipuris!

[ Sat, Apr 24, 2010 5:38 pm ]

Manipur is concerned over a threat issued by a member of the Tirhut sub-zonal committee of the CPI (Maoist) that if labourers from Bihar and Jharkhand working in the state were forced to leave, Naxals would not sit back. The Revolutionary People's Front (RPF), the political wing of People's Liberation Army, had asked non-Manipuris to leave the state by May 31. On Thursday, Naxal leader Sher Khan issues a statement in Sheohar warning of Naxal attacks if this happened. As newspapers in Imphal reported the threat, CM Okram Ibobi Singh said he would contact his Bihar and Jharkhand counterparts to ensure safety and security of Manipuris. The CPI (Maoist) leader reportedly said that they would target Manipuris in Bihar, Jharkhand, UP and Bengal if non-Manipuris were targeted here. Underground groups in Manipur have been targeting non-Manipuri workers, particularly labourers and petty traders from the Hindi heartland, for several years now. While 50 non-Manipuris were killed in 2009. The Hindustani Samaj of Manipur, in a letter to the PM, said 32 migrants have been killed in 2010.

Ultimatum is ridiculous

[ Fri, Apr 23, 2010 10:18 am ]

It is very disturbing to hear that RPF has given ultimatum to all non-manipuries to leave the state by 31-May-10. Without discussing with public on the pros and cons taking such decision is ridiculous. Many of our bethrens earn their livelihood and help their family in Manipur by working in other states, then, why stopping non-manipuries to work in our state? Now, Ibobi says he would talk to his counterparts. What a shameless creature, he has not been successful in building a clean society, restoring peace & harmony, not able to gain respect from the local people. With this stature, what request and influence he can make to other State Govts. Will people listen to him at all??? Another perspective to look at is that they are 'blue collar' labourers (most of them) while many of us doing jobs in other cities of India are in 'white collor' category. So, what is the harm? Another perspective to look at is that how many of manipuries do / can bring in business enough to employ 60-70% of the population there in Manipur? How many meiteis take up jobs without being choosy about work-class? They has apprehension, they don't feel comfortable to do labour but they are free to kill their time by gossiping, taking drug & alcohol........what kind of human face, what attitude to work and people? Introspect, please introspect. Why driving away non-manipuries who think & live with the philosophy "Work Is Worship". They have the gut to pick up any job but are we meities have that attitude & readiness? You know the answer :-( It\'s high time to go & think global. Forget about being part of Indian territory, we know that Central Govt has not been giving due attention & importance. However, we are in a social network, on a bigger social platform and we are human beings --remember 'humane'!!!??? The global population is gradually turning into boundariless world, then, why this state formation, greater Nagaland, independent state....bla bla bla. .... it is too much, why killing yourselves and ourselves. live your life and let people live.

Health hazards or health calls

[ Thu, Apr 22, 2010 3:24 am ]

RPF's pledge to build a healthy society is as ridiculous as destroying the lives of people of Manipur. They don't understand the meaning of a healthy society. On one side they carry out all kinds of illegal activities like extortion, smuggling, drugs, etc, stopping all projects concerning development of our state, taking cuts from big projects and political leaders, and on other pledge to build a healthy society adhering to international conventions. Talking of international conventions is like fooling us, the people of Manipur. First of all lets follow our country's norms and conventions. They have misguided people against our own constitution & now they talk of healthy conventions not being followed by our constitution. Why double standards? This shows their irrational ideologies. Peace & normalcy should be spoken of by people who are law abiding. May I appeal to doctors & nurses about whom UG's commented to continue to do their jobs well the way they are doing now. I also appeal to people to join hands to make our state Manipur healthy, wealthy, prosperous & peaceful by not joining hands with UG outfits.

Paper agencies plundering Manipur's glory

[ Thu, Apr 22, 2010 3:24 am ]

It is grevious to state for the frontol coverage given by the newspaper agencies to all these UG outfit from past fortnight. They are covering their news as national news not giving adequate vital space for Manipur as such. UG's celebrating Martyr's day, is covered as if an overbridge is inaguarated in Manipur. How come burning of books by banned outfits covered in front page. Education is the one of the form of development for people of Manipur. Impact created by such incidents is very adverse on minds of students. Ultimately such kinds of coverage surely will create wrong impacts on minds of people that UG's have importance in our land of Manipur so, they will give a thought of sending their children abroad. Statements of sovereignty, alien rule, determination etc is actually deviating the minds of our common people by not letting to concentrate on other issues of well being and prosperity. There are two edges of a coin. One side is heads and other side is tails. One side talking about nationalism and patriotism and other side extortion, killing innocent people. Wow great !!! isn't.

Some group wants public support who are giving extortion notes to the same public. Is it not brutal. UG outfits opening a base camp with public support or are they just releasing statements of public support is covered in front page. These UG outfits have increased their dominance through the media coverage which I am sure they are getting by frightening the poor newspaper people. We the people of Manipur understand this. Let us hope some day in the near future our newspapers and we have the courage not to pay heed to what these people whose only aim is to carry out extortion, tell us..

Earning our living here now feeling insecure

[ Wed, Apr 21, 2010 11:52 pm ]

An apeal to the well wisher and leaders of our state "Manipur".
We work and live outside manipur, Till now we are proud to introduce ourselve as Manipuri, when people from other states mistaken us as nepali, mizo or any other we do't like and do the correction. we are happy to identify our identity, keeping in mine the identity within we prefer to name our children's name also pure manipuri. But today seeing the threaten from Maoists as a consequence. we do not know what will happen in future if we introduce as manipuri. Earning our living here now feeling ensecure of our life, Back home what is our future we wonder, Please find a solution for this issue. let's live in peace....

People of Manipur want to enjoy their life doing nothing

[ Tue, Apr 20, 2010 10:57 pm ]

Having seen meitei in all the states and cities of India, the question of sending non-manipuri out of the state sounds ridiculous. In fact, we meitei should have the courage to do any work for livelihood like non-manipuri does. To tell you the fact, people of our state want to enjoy their life doing nothing. We are not able to compete with them and so the question of expulsion. Imagine a situation where all meiteis from other states are sent back to Manipur. What are they going to do in Manipur? We can ask non-manipuri to respect our culture and people but not to leave. If we really care about our culture and community, why do we celebrate all forms of festival which belong to non-manipuri? I request concerned people to concentrate more on internal issues of Manipur like corruption, education system, infrastructure, strikes, bandh, unlawful killings, etc

Today it is butcher shops of killing

[ Tue, Mar 30, 2010 3:53 pm ]

I would like to express this few words about underground in manipur in your prestigious platform. It was indeed sad when (RPF)asked the non-Manipuris to leave Manipur. Is it manipur a foreign country or it is in India? I really wonder why people has so much trust in underground like RPF. How much we have to suffer because of underground? Why thousands of Manipur youths worked in Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad and others cities. Is this brain drain who work in this cities as hotel waiters, waitresses, beauticians, call centers executives and all others petty job? We know its not at all safe to work in, any point of time they can drag into same evil. Where is peace and happiness in manipur? Who has taken away? Once it was a beautiful land where simple and understanding people dwelled but today it become butcher shops of killing. Dear underground, your views are outdated, baseless and torturing innocent people we are not longer with you. Go your own way but we will against all the evil you do. Fight among different factions in manipur but not with innocent people. Kill among yourself and disappear from the land of manipur. We want to see innocent people smiling.

Partiality in Punishment

[ Sat, Mar 20, 2010 1:51 am ]

This is my open letter to all the Insurgent groups who themselves claimed to exist to clean the dirty things from Manipur. Why is this partiality in giving punishment to corrupt people??? If a government official takes bribe, he has to pay for that but why not politicians?? Do you people bother to assess the property that our Mr. CM bought in last 10 years??? What is your aim??? Harassing ordinary people in the name of corruption?? What services have you done so far for the welfare of people?? Lobbing bombs in public places is what you do for welfare of people?? Who gave you the authority to kill people? Manipuri praja didn\'t gave you that authority. Please prove first that what you guys are doing is for the welfare of the people only then people will trust you else......

Experience innocent people brutally tortured

[ Fri, Mar 19, 2010 7:35 am ]

First I would like to thank the epao team for the geart effort of producing various information regarding many issue happening in the world today. Itz a great web for one and all. Here let me come to the point, being a manipuri itz been really a hard thing to experience innocent people brutally tortured and killed by the heartless manipur police commandos. i mean are we all dumb, letting this heartless creature goes on their way they want. Manipur commandos are not for the security and safety for people, infact they are the real killing machines, everyday so many innocent people were the victim of their prey. BT road shoot out is the prove of their(commandos) evil doings. And many of the victims families were bribe by the goverment and the case was just closed. How could a life of a person can exchange with money, we must not pay any heed convincing material did of the government. we can stand together as one to fight all this evil activities rendered to us by the commandos. why we dont raise a slogan against the government and the police commandos. each and every individual of manipur must stand and we are not casting our vote for the government till the government of manipur adopt a law for the good and welfare of the people. dear folks letz do something before it goes to late.

Inhuman touture/violation of human rights by IRB

[ Wed, Mar 17, 2010 7:01 am ]

Respected Editor, there are numerous incidents in maipur regarding the inhuman touture/violation of human rights by ihe IRB/Manipur COMMANDOs, my voice of concern is to all those people of manipur who are there to make hue and cry when any army personnel misbehaves with any civilians. i feel they lack motto, what do they do wen IRB/COMMANDO does the same. if u spare a second and started comparing the response of the general mass you will find a stark difference. may be because no one really cares to control this.but when any army personnel does then everyone will be on the streets and after the AFSPA. so even if it is not backed openly we can understand who is the mastermind. take for example the shooting of AG, imagine if that be done by any army - then we wold have experienced another june 18.the system of manipur govts functioning is rotten from the base root, nothing much can be done by an individualor single organisation. manipur needs a civil war.

Regarding AG's shooting

[ Thu, Mar 11, 2010 3:33 am ]

Ibobi is going crazy with each passing day..How can he say that there will be no investigation regarding the shooting of the Advocate General by his Minister?...always trying to bend the law according to his convenience. Power has corrupted his Govt. completely. He is always shooting off his mouth..like George Bush Jr. Don't forget his speech in the Assembly 'There is no other way than to kill all the militants'..regarding Sanjit's and Rabina's murder by the police commandos. Will there ever be peace and development in Manipur with leaders like these and military/police on one hand and militants/gangs,etc.on the other? I doubt it....

We should stop complaining

[ Thu, Mar 11, 2010 2:19 am ]

As highlighted many a times by various contributors to E-Pao, the present situation of Manipur is very bad. The situation is beyond the word-power to explain. This situation has compelled many parents to send their son/daughter away from Manipur. It may sound strange to know that parents sometimes advise their children not to visit Manipur even during the vacation/leave. There are no parents who do not want to meet their children. Despite their love, it is the security threat that makes them to take such a decision. You can feel the situation when no one is feeling secured. What is the charm in life if your movement/decision is restricted & your security is threatened and you cannot speak out anything ???. You tell any problem and it is there in Manipur. Since the problems are plentily available, it is very easy for anyone to comment on it. It is high time that we need to improve the situation. We should stop complaining but start sharing views for remedial action & solutions. Like many persons, I\'m not competent as yet but I would like to share my views with the hope that sharing views will one day bring normalcy to the situation of Manipur. It appears the root cause of this problem are bad Law & Order and Poverty. Bad Law & Order creates Poverty; Poverty creates bad Law & Order. These two almost creates a cylic process. We are thus in a very bad infinite loop. In this world, law & order and money are everything but Manipur has nothing. When law & order is bad, money will not be distributed equally & it will never develop the state as a whole. Apart from poor law & order, there is hardly any industries, factories, pharmaceuticals production etc etc... in Manipur. The present Manipur is a very poor state with no law & order. Who on this world will respect & listen to the word of a poor state. We survive through the food/clothes/medicines/instruments/cars/petrol.... supplied from other states of India. We are fully dependent to others. India is like a Family with different states as it\\\'s children & Delhi as the Parent. In a family, as the time goes by, the word/complaint raised by the poorer child is never listened and it is given least priority. This is the situation of the present Manipur. The mildest word by the rich state is listened immediately. There is partiality everywhere and it is natural in this world. In this partiality, the rich are always on the top priority. It is not the look or the culture or the religion that creates this partiality but the money & power. Shouting slogans, burning effigies and killing will never bring any change. We should think how to make Manipur a rich state as a whole so that our word are listened by world and given top priority. In the present situation a normal person is handicapped. So, despite having lot of self interest a normal person cannot do anything. There are many unmentioned hurdles in this step to development. Only the competent persons can jump. The reasons are very clear. We are in dire need of competent persons who can take an initiation to development. Manipur need to start some legal sources of income. Setting up of industries, factories with the full support of security system is very important. For that Law & order needs to be brought. There are many unmentioned hurdles in this step to development. Only the competent persons can make through this way. Such highly competent person needs can put their expertise to bring a solution law & order and peace. When law and order is back we can think of development. At that time Manipur will be popular & will be known to everyone (like other popular cities). At present many Indians do not know Manipur. It is we who made this. If cities Mumbai, Jaipur, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad are known to everyone why not the state Manipur. I pray the situation of Manipur comes back to normalcy in the near future with support from all the readers.

Look who is talking

[ Wed, Mar 10, 2010 12:09 am ]

KYKL issues guidelines - Look who is talking, the organizations like KYKL who had forced schools and colleges to shut down for almost six months have now become moral police and are propagating do's and don'ts for exams. I am confused what do they want??? Betterment of the state or creating controversies at every drop of the hat. Such diktats don't suit the organization which is involved in killing, intimidation and extortion in our state.

Be carefull with non-manipuris

[ Sat, Mar 06, 2010 11:39 pm ]

Please give a message to all the oufit militants in Manipur and ask that, who is going to take the responsibilties of keeping us(manipuris)safe outside manipur.more than a lakh manipuris are staying outsaide manipur to study, earn their livlihood and also sportsman. Already so many girls and women had been raped by non-manipuris in Delhi and Bangalore. Once the mass driven of non-manipuris happens definetly manipuris staying in all the other states will be in trouble. Anyway there is no difference between the trrorist and out manipur militants. In one term terrorist do not exort or demand money from public however these militants are taking the money from the public as well as killing the public. How you can say that they are freedom fighter. If you want to fight with India go to Delhi and fight or fight against the indian government office beerers and institutions. Also do not accept money sanctioned and come from India. Manufacture our own things and produce our own currency. Day by day the militancy are increased, there is no peace to study, earn money and stay peacefull in manipur so that is the reason so many students like us and now even Ministers, sportsmen they bought properties and flats in Delhi, kolkata, mumbai and other states to settle in future. Even the top militants are settle in many unknown outside manipur where they stay peacfully and spread violence in Manipur. Stop militancy or we will be finished one day by indian army. If the insurgency is not stopped, after few years there will be more widows and where they will go, they even tend to go also in a wrong way to earn money and feed their children. See nagaland and mizoram, how they are developed by taking advantage from india goverment by compromising and signing peace deal. Praying for peace in manipur! Let us suck the India government not with violence however with our our demand skill, knowlege and capability of working hard to develop like Sikkim. Let us try to rule them by going out of manipur as officers, sports campions and high techs wher they ! will say see what a Manipuris!

On the killing of women

[ Sun, Jan 31, 2010 1:32 pm ]

Due to the recent brutal killings of women in different parts of Manipur, we the people of this region have to take certain actions to stop such crimes in future. Generally, we people never accept dating or talkings of the young boys and girls on roads or in public places. And there is no such place in Manipur where young lovers can openly share their thoughts. Even in restaurants and hotels, some NGOs have banned the lovers to go in there. As a result, the boys and girls prefer to meet in any deserted places where less people travel. In such places, some men take advantages of being men by doing everything what they like. If they are not pleased, they even beat, torture and take lives of the innocent girls. To avoid such crimes, the parents and the girls have take certain precautions. They are: 1). Girls keep avoiding from the deserted places and try their best not to meet boyfriends in the deserted places like forest, fields, dark places etc. They must always try their best to have close and faithful relations with their boyfriends. A girl must have love affair with only one boy. Having unfaithful and insincere relations causes most of the crimes that we hear now-a-days. 2). Parents have to look very closely on the behavior of their daughters and if they have any suspicious and fear, they discuss it instantly before its too late. Parents must always try to be the best friends of their children so that they feel every pain or worry in the hearts of the young daughters. There must not be any secret among the parents and their young children. If we keep the above two rules and precautions, we can stop killing of the innocent women and we can at last have peace in our region.

Make our place a better place

[ Fri, Dec 18, 2009 7:17 am ]

It is very painful to learn that two non-manipuris had been shot dead by the two unidentified armed men. Killing innocent people is still going on! Just think by using your brain if it happens to your own people who are studying outside Manipur or your own family member.......how will you react? Remember that if you take somebody's life you also will meet the same fate. Don't kill man. Even if he has done wrong to you, just give warning only. Even if you don't kill, death is sure to come one day. None can go against the decree of Providence. This is for everybody. This killing job must be carried out by parikha fail loiba, paisa khaiba, thabak suningdaba, sudana nungaiba pamba, mingonda dhamka touba- kihanba mama-mapana waraktaba macha etc. The devilish activities carried out by these animals have been causing great anxiety and panic among the inhabitants of our locality. To whom do we have to complain? To the police? mai.. mai.. Tada sa commandos themselves are involved in such activities. We badly need to devise effective means to prevent deadly occurence in our society. Intelligence department (if there is..) and club members of every leikai should stay strong and bring cooperation and unity among themselves to fight against terrorism.Since Manipuri is a terrorist infested area, no one from outside Manipur wants to visit. Even I feel ashamed to tell to my non-manipuri friends that I am from Manipur. Would be better to tell that I am from Mizoram or Arunachal. Manipur is the most worst place of the world. Let's try to make our place a better place-not by force but by peaceful method.

DGP statement is true

[ Mon, Jul 20, 2009 3:16 am ]

As I was also a student few years back. I totally agree that DESAM is the frontal organisation of KYKL. Even AMADA is also one of the organisation. DESAM is claiming to provide proof in his statement . I think all the civilians in Manipur are aware of it. I can name few person in this regards but as my life can be threat. But as a citizen of Manipur I agree the DGP's statement. Lie detector test of the arrested student is more than enough for the proof. I am not telling that DESAM is bad or KYKL is same or any other organisation but just for the wellfare of Manipur . This civil organisation are the main cause of hinderance in the development of Manipur.

The greatest sin

[ Sun, Jul 19, 2009 11:48 am ]

I find it fair to say that if our elected representatives fail to deliver the goods to the public time and time again, the fault in a good measure, lies with us, the electorates. We are so happy bartering our valuable franchise for a meagre sum of 300 rupees during elections. We deserve it in some way. But who gave this UGs the right to represent the public. Besides, how many leaders are educated enough to know the nuances of administration! And if they think they can indict some people and condemn them to death for some silly reason as not complying to their monetary demands, I'm afraid that would be the greatest sin.

Eyes wide shut

[ Sat, Jul 18, 2009 8:56 am ]

I read that the 120 hours bandh have been mitigated to 72 hours. Thank you DESAM. Few autorickshaws burnt down. Poor people were using that to earn that living. It's gone into dust now. They were naughty, didn't listen to obey the orders. Everyday security personels are killing youth in the name of encounter. Some are genuine but most are fake. Nobody says nothings. Everyone has become blind. People join the force to become rich not to bring about justice. There is no development. No education. I came out many years ago when this trouble started but I never thought things will ever go so bad. Society have become numb to pain and love is not there anymore. Even people are afraid to have romance in this place today because one doesn't know what his love will lead to hate. I don't know what the solution is...can anyone come up with few.

DESAM's 120 hrs bandh not justified

[ Fri, Jul 17, 2009 12:20 am ]

The on-going bandh for 120 hrs called by DESAM (Democratic Students Asso. of Manipur) is not justified. 120 hrs=5days. Whatsoever the reasons, such a long bandh is not justified at any level in the context of public interest. Are they getting real public support? Are they true student leaders or true Manipuris in heart? It is very much doubtfull! Have they ever imagined or experienced the hardship of common people, public inconveniences, miseries caused by such non-sense srikes? Who are they to play around the lifes or stomachs of hundreds of thousand of Manipuris. There are many democratic & legal means to protest and contest of any arrest of their leaders, if any. And if they feel injustice is done to few of their leaders. They can go for peacfull protests like hunger strike (if they can), peace rally, media campaign, law of the land, judiaciary etc. Insteed of going for peacefull means, they are creating another problem in a state which is already full of problems. During these 5 days, Manipur would loose ard. Rs. 200 crores of financial transactions. If DESAM is creating such a huge loss, public disorder & miseries and at such extent, they should be banned and arrest all the members. And what the state govt. is doing to prevent such a huge loss, public disorder etc.? Common citizen like me are very much fed up of such strikes and bandhs! We,the common people of Manipur, appeal to DESAM to reconsider their STAND. And advise to think many times and get public support in confidence before going ahead with such controversial bandhs. DESAM can not give justification for such public loss & disorder.DESAM members, plz do things carefully & tactfully, else you know without public support any movements tends to fail.

People its time to celebrate, for what is being done to us for such a pretty long time has been done to them by the Australians. So cheers. Atleast now they must have realised that their clothes smells of curry. But hey am i rejoicing abit much more than i am suppose to be. Ironically don't you realize that we too do the same . Don't we do it to the non-manipuris. Sometimes i feel that we are more harsher. In hindi speaking states they insult us . In Australia they do a curry bashing but in our state they simply kill them.

Money taken during IRB/Cos set-up

[ Tue, Jun 30, 2009 4:38 am ]

If I have the pleasure to send some comment on today's Manipur situation, the situation is becoming very harsh day by day due to improper government, all the Manipuri men are dying and the Government is not taking any proper step to stop such improper killing according to me when the IRB/Commando were set-up, the government has taken lots of money from them which in turn the police personal try to regain their money by improper means; if this goes on like this then there will be no lasting peace in Manipur

The price of a job in my birthplace

[ Sun, Jun 28, 2009 9:31 am ]

The word 'price' is compatible with the goods for to be sold and bought. And by nature it goes on increasing day by day. Unfortunately the recruitment process under the supervision of Mr. Singh is that of sales of commodity. Totally unfaired, unbaised, corruptive and well off related. The price of 1 kg of rice range from 15 to 25, likewise the price of jobs range from 3 lakhs to 15 lakhs and people are in queue to take it by hook or crook. It's really a strange thing to be thought. Recruitment of securities in Manipur is totally price range and related and not the merits of candidate. We become not candidates but a buyer because we have to buy the jobs. Everyone knows this is a factfile. The securities and employees who become machineries by buying with huge amount cannot bring a stable state but chaos. One who cannot pay will remain jobless and one who can pay will exist. No value of being merit and educated. I am more qualified and educated from others my fren cirle yet I am jobless in Manipur whereas all my frens have gotten govt jobs by buying in huge amount. I cannot pay so right now m in Guwahati holding a private job. Who will change this dirty habit of employing and recruitment I wonder. I too wonder how they will be, I mean, those who buy jobs giving a huge money, about their future because they lend from others and they have to pay off the debts with interest. The answer is commandos are killing if anyone who carries an amount and qualified them as a terrorist. Becuase they have pay off the money back to the lenders and not through the salary. The salary is not affordable.

How many are butchered?

[ Sun, Jun 28, 2009 6:21 am ]

How many innocent people are butchered today in the name of suspected underground groups by the security forces? How many died in the encounter? The answer is all of them were shot dead in cold murder. How many security forces are injured in the encounter? Pardon me for my foolish question, I forgot they are bigger then God itself and they don't die. They are meant to kill they don't die but they always recover a vehicle, arms and ammunition and a grenade. Every person butchered by them have the same weapons. Looking forward to the number of suspected UG gun down in encounter with the commandos. I am waiting anxiously as I have a feeling thats its going to be more than 5.

Human being have no values

[ Fri, Jun 26, 2009 10:30 pm ]

Just want to share a piece of my thought. Manipur is my mother land, wherever we go, wherever we stayed our home - my birth place is the only PARADISE. Dying to be there at least once in awhile but on second thought, felt am I really want to go there. When you think will I be safe there because Manipur is just like living on the edge. It's a place where human being have no values (killings everyday), the place which doesnt have Movie Theater, no electricity although Loktak lake is ours, no proper transportation etc.... it's a place where there is nothing to show to outsiders that can make us proud. However, we Manipuris are still standing proud because we have the potential to compromise all the things thats mention above. Really scare, if Manipuris really have a future.

Musing on Karma

[ Thu, Jun 25, 2009 5:28 am ]

What could have gone wrong for the collective people of Manipur, that we suffer so much today??? The Jewel of East now washed with blood of its people; everything seems to have eroded, the whole value system, the paramount social institutions seems decaying. And why??? Is it because of "Karma - the law of cause and effect" ? Have we collectively did some grievous misdeed in the past that we suffer altogether???? Our history was full of blood bath, clashes among various kings & clans. Moirangkhom was part of that history - never written, and so was many other similar battles, when some stronger tribe or clan wanted to annihilate another stuborn one. Conversion to hinduism wherein many scholar were killed (pou-numba - a tortured killing by dunking them in deep water until they surrender or die, ngambong-khao- killing by throwing water with hands legs tied inside a large gunny bag). IS this phase when killing takes place non-stop - visiting from our past on recurring basis OR is this another phase of cleansing our bejewel land with our own blood????? Whatever may have been the cause, the effect surely is very agonising. But they say in 'Kali Yug' the cycle of 'karma' repeats much faster (achotpa khudei kungde), then the question arises where did we as a collective people went wrong? But I feel everything went wrong. Everybody is corrupt someway or the other, or related in some way or the other. Look at every household, one or two are in some govt. job. How??? Of course, by corrupting some ministers or high ranking officers. Look at the high rises of any Engineer's house, can his pay manage such marble floored fortess??? Their sons and daughter too would have gotten precious Doctors' & Engineers' seat again through the ill-gotten money. And so the cycle goes on and on. Today many are in same vicious cycle now that their sons and daughter too are in commanding Govt. services. The ills of our society multiply recklessly. All we do is keep on blaming someone else for all our misdeeds, and only target we find convenient is our current Government, since they represent the cumulative burden of all our misdeeds. And the cycle never ends. Now The million dollar question is how do we come out of this never cycle of law of Karma. And I suppose everybody knows it, but doubts it if it could be of any use now, that all the water has flowed under the bridge.

What is the difference between revolutionary and gangster?

[ Tue, Jun 23, 2009 9:40 am ]

As my memory goes some 20 yrs back, I used to hear the rape case of Tamphasana, if I am not wrong, the accused where given punishment by PLA or other revolutionary group. Such were there popularity that masses used to use consider them as heroes. They used to have sympathy in every Manipuri's heart and infact among mayang people also. The then insurgents had only one moto to give justice to the truth. They never were allured by money, pleasure or worldly things. Drug abusers used to piss hearing their presence. They were fighting corruption and did not interfere in any policy of government that were made at the interest of the public. The living example is the present Khuman Lampak stadium. They were the true revolutionaries, as they consider even outsiders who settled in manipur as the sons of this soil. Hats off to your broad mindedness. I salute all those yesteryears legends.

But the present insurgent irrespective of any group is just wandering behind money. They just turn blind to get money. The blame game prevalent in the society is just going to make things complicated. I feel at the present scenario there is no revolutiony group present in Manipur. All are gangs. And if at all they claim that they are the same then they have to sacrifice this attitude of selfishness, extortion and killing innocent people. Remember revolutionaries never harm unarm people. let us all join in hand to make manipur a better more develop state. My hope still remains...............

"Jungle law" AFSPA

[ Thu, Jun 18, 2009 4:05 am ]

Hi I'm from Bamon leikai and I'm learning computer. But I have a strong feeling of saving Manipur from shrinking, so may I have the pleasure to add some comment in your news editorial. Manipuri Men are killing day by day by commandos and the armies taking advantage of the "Jungle law" AFSPA, as I'm to young but if my comment is approvable ,then please approved it, my comment is that, "if proper political dialogue are made between the Government and the UGs then I hope their will be lasting peace in Manipur.

Protest or poster campaign dont work

[ Tue, Jun 16, 2009 7:56 am ]

This is with reference to this news. All what Smt. L. Memchoubi had said are true and correct. But there can still be different opinions. The attrocities of the security forces in Manipur may be excessive to some. Yet it may not be excessive to others. To some, both naharols and security personnel are equally terrorising the people. So, it may be difficult to make conclusion on who is right and who is wrong. But what we all know is, it is not just a human right violation anymore. It is worse than that. May be the government is trying to intimidate the people so that they will never ever raise the sovereignty issue again and, quit insurgency forever. So, where do we draw the line here? The State government should know how to take up the matter and must know how to put an end to it. Otherwise there is no much hope. It is not that the Central government does not know what is happening out there. They know what is happening out there. The problem is we, the people and the State government are not capable and not competent enough to take up the matter so as to make a change. We simply apply the old method, i.e. protest or poster campaign. If protests and poster campaigns are to make any change, we have done it quite a number of times in the past too. Dont we? May be we have to apply different method, different system, different style and may be new approach so as to make the central government listen to us. What must be the new appraoch and the new system be then? For instance, when the left pullled-out from UPA and, the Congress are running here and there in search of supporters, do we even think of using that opportunity to lodge our grivances and make some demands, such as lifting of AFSPA in Manipur? Secondly what makes the army enter into Manipur with such droconian law? Is not the insurgents responsible? Here, one can easily perceive that throwing out the army but taming/keeping isurgents in Manipur may not be permissible to the Central government. Then what is to be done then? The State government must examine properly every aspects, talking to both sides of the contenders and, all the people involved. Then only they can make some change.

What about those living outside?

[ Mon, Jun 15, 2009 3:33 am ]

In the wake of recent killing of innocent Mayangs in the state of Manipur, does not deserve a condemnation by the Manipuri public. This has been shown by the public. Killing of a contractor drows more condemnation then killing of 100 outsiders. A Manipuri life is so precious, why not they are mighty people. Inspite of all this commendable job done, they still need not worry of the thousands if not lakhs of Manipuri living outside of Manipur just for the fact that the Mayangs do not act like them.

this is not a rational thing

[ Sat, Jun 13, 2009 8:48 am ]

The Recent killings of Non-locals in Manipur is condemnable. What is the fault of these Laborers. They are like any other human being on earth ; leaving there native place just for the sake of earning a two square meals a day. Nobody likes to leave there native place and/or live in a far away or foreign land. They like to mingle among their fellow relatives and friends. The very fact that they are living in Manipur is just for earning their livelihood. Any group or Individual who is engaging in this act is not doing a rational thing. In case if the non-locals retaliate by Killing the Manipuris who are residing or students who are living in other states then we will be far at lost. Every civilian in Manipur and Human rights group should also protest and show a very strong disapproval of this kind of heinous act. Very surprisingly, other than the procedural reaction from the government no one or no group from Manipur is condemning this act. Violence cannot be the means of achieving something in a civilized society.

Harmony in jeopardy for those outside Manipur

[ Sat, Jun 13, 2009 1:37 am ]

These so called insurgents are nothing more than the "bhais" of Mumbai i.e. uneducated, unethical, leachers, extortionist leading a life without any principles and moral value. How would you explain the execution of 4 bengalis in Imphal? Such an cowardly act shows how timid these insurgents are! In the process they are also jeopardising the harmony of our comunity who are outside Manipur! What we need is a thorough mopping exercise like the one that anhiliated the dreaded LTTE. It is high time that the people of Manipur must unite and uproot these cowards.

Suspending Commandos is not the solution

[ Wed, Jun 10, 2009 5:23 am ]

Hello people, there is nothing to cheer and rejoice about the suspension of these killer commandos. Its just a matter of time before they are re-instated with full pay and they will continue to kill, continue with the never ending fake encounters all in the name of combating terrorist and underground elements. Suspending the commandos will not make a difference to Satish's family or lessen the pain they are going through. Punishing the killers are not the solution. Something has to done in order to prevent such crimes in the future. I pray for the family.

Those killed were all good men

[ Tue, Jun 09, 2009 8:01 am ]

Manipur is a "land of talkings and writings, no practical". So many writers are writing many good things. Even research scholars are writing. The regretful point is that nothing is done practically. Manipuris must learnt how to be practical. If you simply sit and blink and write or shout, unless you start no change will take place. You have to apply "just do it" policy. You (people of Manipur)talk too much, especially the plain people. In future just do it and, carry out the task - Any task which you were discussing or writing. I think this will surely make some change. And mind you, dont forget to change the elected members next time. Next time please keep in mind to elect only willing workers. We have a Chief Minister as much as other States do. We also have MPs as much as other States do. We still have 60 MLAs which is more than sufficient for just 20 lakh people. No other State in India has 60 MLAs for 20 lakh people. Its not the absence of men. Its the absence of willing workers which make Manipur deteriorating. And you naharols, stop killing all the good people of Manipur. I am not talking about Prof. Muhammad. Even if we look back the last 20 years, most of the people you killed were all good men who worked for the welfare of the people. Seems like you hate sincere people. Looks like you hate people of guts and determination. Looks like you hate practical people. Dont you know it is the practical people what Manipur needs. Everything must be practical from now on, then only Manipur will witness some change.

The core issue of Manipur

[ Mon, Jun 08, 2009 6:28 am ]

Why do people kill minor girls and raped minor girls. The main reason is due to the non performance of our Chief Mnister. The lawlessness in Manipur is shameful. Even dogs outside Manipur no longer respects people of Manipur. The Chief Minister is not respected either. The reason behind this is people of manipur dont have the sense of taking up the core issue. The core issue is we should make full scrutiny of our ministers and hold them accountable for all the good and bad deeds. Unfortunately people are more interested in the hype, the publicity and the protest. People must know whether our ministers and other authorities are really concerned for the welfare of the people. People must know whether the concerned minister & authorities have the vision and sincerity to make a change. If they dont have such vision and if they dont have any intention of bringing a change, what is the use of lodging our grievances to such people. It is just like throwing a diamond to a pig. We are lodging our grievances to the wrong persons. When we lodge our grievances to the right person then only some change will come. The right persons may or may not be in power. Even if the right persons never happened to be in power, the people must 'act' to make the right person to power. When Lalu Prasad was the Chief Minister of Bihar, there was lawlessness everywhere in Bihar. Naxals were on the loose. He may be a good railway minister but he was not a good chief Minister. The reason is he has a concern for the development of the railways of the nation as a whole but has not much concern for the development of Bihar in particular. Nitish Kumar on the other hand has concern for the development of Bihar in particular and that is why condition of roads and electricity supply was much better with Nitish Kumar as Chief Minister. Naxals were no longer in operative with Nitish Kumar as Chief Minister. This shows that condition of a particular State has much influence on the Chief Minister and also shows that it depends on what kind of Chief Minister the State have. Meiteis who are in the State capital may also take a different approach as far as core issue is concern. If a Chief Mnister cannot take any meaningful step and, if he cannot make a change, what use is that we lodge our grievances to that State government. We need a strong State government. We need a leader who can be trusted and capable of making change. If the ministers and other authorities are not sincere and if the people are to live with this type of stagnated culture, the people must also know that it is necessary to pull them down and substitute them with willing workers, with sincere workers, with people who has guts and ability and, with people who have vision and concern for the welfare of the people. At present we are lodging our grievances to the wrong persons. Manipur will change only when we lodge our grievances to the right persons. The right persos may or may not be in power. If it happened that the right persons are never in power, even then it is the duty of the citizens to 'act', discuss, work and toil so as to make the right persons to power. That is the core issue.

Condemnation of killing of Prof Islamuddin

[ Fri, Jun 05, 2009 1:20 am ]

We, the Aligarh Muslim University Manipuri Students Community strongly condemns the brutal killing of Prof. Islamuddin. We also demand the responsible authorities for a fair and transparent investigation of the sad incidence which has defamed not only the university but also the whole state in the eyes of the national and international public. We also sincerely share the grieves of the bereaved family.

Look at Kashmir

[ Thu, Jun 04, 2009 10:44 am ]

Yet another incident again. Whether the victims are innocent or not is something else. The main problem is, it is too much already. Naharols must open their eyes wide open and look at Kashmir. If any State is against the law of the nation and, choose a seperatist path, the army were always used extensively by government. Thats how India dealt with such people. Learn lessons from the past and learn lessons from other States. Manipur must learnt lessons from other States who fought for seperation. Dont you see they never make it. They all suffer in vain. At the end they quit whatsoever. The failure of the civil administration is shameful. The civil administration is completely incompetent to look after its State. The CM and his entire cabinet must resign and, if they refuse to resign let them start some change. Manipuris (or people of Manipur) have a feeling that they are living in a outside world. Officially they are not. Though you think you are outside the control of India, actually India is in control and will always be. You cannot change it officially (the fact that you are under Indias sovereignty). You ca never change it officially. Even the total population is hardly 20 lakhs. You are no match to India. Media must concentrate on facts (the fact that they(naharols) will never make it). The cause may be genuine. You and I too know that the cause is genuine. But that is one sided version only. The fact that India attain freedom in 1947 and all the territories annexed by the British came under India may not be ignored by mayangs, though you may like them to ignore it. Chief Minister of Manipur must use his brain properly. It is incompetency that really creates lawlessness. There are means to enlightened the naharols and the people as a whole. But such thought simply does not exist in his mind. Media too never focussed on this. I dont know why. The situation in Manipur is shameful. Learn how to feel ashame. If you give a second thought on the way of the naharols, I dont think it is something to be proud of. Do you(media) still feel that it is something to be proud of? If not, spread awareness to the naharols as well. Not the awareness of Manipur past history but the awareness that they will never make it and the victim will always be Manipuri. Sometimes dont you think this is not bravery but madness and fool hardiness? If not, dont encourage the children of other parents to join naharols again. Instead send your own children. Then you will change your mind. The parents of other children too want their child to enjoy life. You have no right to lure them with negative thoughts just for your publicity.

Bandh is NOT the answer

[ Mon, Jun 01, 2009 11:10 am ]

This is related to the 120-hrs bandh called by DESAM. I just wanted to ask all the concern official of the Organization (DESAM) and other organizations who are in the mood to call BANDH-- Is it sensible enough to call a Bandh at this situation?? Don't we have any other means of protest? I think Bandh will not solve our problem rather aggravate the situation. As we have seen how our bright students react to such Bandhs and strikes. Such type of protest will hamper the academic atmosphere. Moreover we have lots of brothers and sisters who depend on their daily earnings. We should keep in mind the pros and cons before taking up any action. My request to the students body is that our motherland is already burning in the hands of incompetent/corrupt politicians, bureaucrats, atrocities of police commandos and terror of insurgent groups so please take up your action keeping in mind the interest of student community and ordinary people.

Not killing, rather make people understand

[ Mon, Jun 01, 2009 3:10 am ]

This is ref to the killing of a MU prof, where as per the news different people of 1st(KYKL), 2nd (IRB) goverment personal are said to be involved. I am really woundering how this brainless people are fighting for the state or are they really tring to bring the stage to old stone age. Can't they value a life of a person who has quality and bought his life through a tought time. Time for all of us is sticking the clock to eliminate all this baseless and useless person so that we the innocent people could atleast lead a peacefull life. KYKL are trying to bring the quality education in the state since long back but do we see any positve impact, and this could not be bought by killing rather then they should make people understand, killing make people wild and will try to take revenge. If they are really in the mind of bringing quality in the state, why many organization are in favor of monetary demand, Is KYKL not in position to stop such activity? All these are just and eyewash to the people and they are looking up things personal rather than public. And if the IRB personal is found to be involved, they should be awarded a proportional punishment, we should not waste state resources to such person like India Goverment waste national resources to the culprit like Kasab.

Concentrate on important issues

[ Sun, May 31, 2009 5:06 am ]

Had no one claimed responsible the students will be tortured by now. Thanked God someone had claimed responsible. Had no one claimed responsible, will the police and intelligents of Manipur find out the culprits? I doubt. How many ministries/departments are there in Manipur? Each department/ministry has a cabinet minister. In the department there are directors and seccretaries. So, media must start focussing on the ministers/authorities and hold them accountable and responsible for any damage within their ministry. In Manipur we simply elect any person even if he/she does not do anything good for the people. Many times we elect the same person even if he/she does nothing for his/her constituecy in particular and for Manipur as a whole. We elect on ethnic lines and community lines. For instance lets presume there is a tribal who can change Manipur into London. Even then all the meiteis will never cast their vote for him/her. Similarly lets presume there is a meitei who can turned Manipur into Paris. Even then all the tribals will never cast their vote for him/her. We must start electing people based on their willingness to work and based on their ability to carry out the work. Let the Chief Minister and his Cabinet first be held accountable and responsible. Lets start concentrating on these people and lets start spitting on these people (politicians). Otherwise Manipur wont be better even after one million years. There are laws for Ministers too. No one should be above the law. Lalu Prasad is a very mean person. He was very \'strict\' and somewhat dictatorial. He has the guts and he has the will. That is why the Ministry of Railways has improved rapidly in just a span of 5 years. If he find anyone neglecting his duty he suspend him/her immediately. Everyone is afraid of him as far as the Rail Ministry is concerned. That is why the Rail Ministry has improved a lot. And you media, please concentrate on the core issues instead of just trying to fill the mind of the people with incidents and happenings and trying to influence the people with useless thoughts of yours. You simply want to make the people to believed the naharols as heroes. Stop the motive. People are not as uncivilised as you think. People prefer better thoughts, better ideas and better motives nowadays. The success story of a person with his local made pressure cooker was simply remarkable. Jai Hind.

Self designated Court

[ Sun, May 31, 2009 5:00 am ]

My name is athouba, I have identified and listed a long list of culprits who were and are responsible to bring the situation of Manipur society to its condition. And I, unlike other people will not announce their crimes after eleminating them but I can announced the quantum of punishment that fits to be given. I am the judge, am the investigating officer,am the victim. I ,after a thorough investigation at last found that the culprit was non other than but "ME". Now, what punishment should I award to the culprit. Should I eliminate myself ? MY heart says no you should give a chance to retrospect yourself. I am living in a lawless society, the theory of food chains, one eat each other and maintain the natural food cycle. Survival of fitness and struggle for existance. The Jungle law atleast I think is much better, there atleast after killing none says he, she,or they did so and so. There is no value of life, the value is measured by the number of bandh, general strike , how many teargas shell were used by the police after someone is being killed. What enquiry, why enquiry, dont constiture any enquiry if I am killed. I will accept the judgment as a natural law ( jungle law). As I told you earlier I had listed numbers of names in my list for hearing in my court and If I found guilty them in my law book, I may eliminate them anytime and dont ask me by that time that no due time was given to correct the wrong doings. It is my "Self designated Court"

KYKL will be like LTTE?

[ Sat, May 30, 2009 6:19 am ]

The killing of Manipur University Prof will have very bad consequences for the KYKL. KYKL should not think that they can kill anyone whom they want in the name of sovereignty and if you go on steps what the most powerful outfit LTTE goes on in, then you also one day will suffer what LTTE suffer now. Think before you do this, are you protector of Manipuri people or killer and that killing will lead to ask question in our mind that we all Manipuri muslim people that are now minority, will be peace after sovereignty or now we need to do something for our future?

Nobody respects people of Manipur

[ Fri, May 29, 2009 4:39 am ]

N Shanta may be called a fool in Manipur. In Manipur people love all what you condermned in your mail below. I dont know why? They will conduct protest, bandhs and all that. That is what they loved. Very strange. May be they simply love crimes, followed by bands and protests. May be they want the crime to occur so that they can conduct bandhs and protests, ha ha ha. Strange, is not it? Media may be the worst. Say "Manipur is great" and, they will be very happy. Their happiness seems to be very small. No reality. No iron will. No willingness. No courage. No vision with whole heartedness. There may be some vision with half heartedness.

N Shanta himself may not be writing from his heart if he is from Manipur, ha ha ha. He must be from Manipur and, that is why he is half heartedly writing without any commitment in trying to translate it into reality. This is why Nobody respects people of Manipur. Manipur is dead, Long live Manipur.

Ruling this Anarchical state

[ Fri, May 29, 2009 1:57 am ]

I heard and read the recent killing of MU Prof. Md. Islamuddin inside the MU campus. Its funny. There is no actor in the condemnation or the subsequent problems. Why this non actors agitated like DESAM. AMSU, KYKL etc. Are they ruling this Anarchical state? How can they kill a person in this manner...who has given them these rights...In the name of Motherland, they are earning money using Meira Paibis , Apunba Lup, and foolish Manipuri peoples by giving some ransom. If one person is guilty, cant they bring him/her to the court. O mercy! these underground are stupid illiterate people who is under the advisers from some Scholars or Bureaucrats who is deception to their soil. I urge to Manipur Government who is also half of non-state actors background to eliminate this ...stop them.

We have allowed them to do it

[ Thu, May 28, 2009 8:45 am ]

The brutal Killing of Prof Islamuddin is not the starting of the problem of assassination but it is the result of ignoring many other assassinations which we have made happen in Manipur. The social organizations or revolutionary organizations which have claimed to have come up with a motto of betterment and cleansing of the society have itself poured all dirt in our society. It is as a reason of us ignoring when so many others got assassinated be it engineers, doctors, contractors etc. Social groups claiming to cleanse the society and in this process their pointing out of defaulters and shooting them at thigh or killing them itself is the dirt of the society.

We the society of Manipur have allowed them to do such acts and that is a reason why we are even loosing people who are much precious for our state. The people operating under the banner of many social organizations openly commit crime which is against humanity but the major population of the society instead of punishing them we encourage them by promoting them under these banners. It is due to the habit of accepting assassinations that we have come across loosing so much of precious lives and personality. Due to such antisocial people operating under such banner today EVEN A LAY MAN claims to be member of some organization and does what ever he wants without being concerned of the society.

This has only been possible because we the people of Manipur have allowed them. Had we put a little concern over what has been happening in the past none of the Organization would have been able to do this. Prof is not the only one who has been assassinated in Manipur there are many who have already lost their life because of the anti human activity of such organization. Makhoi di khutlai paibani na aeikhoi na makhoi ga khatnaruba yadae Due to this psychology they have evolved as people who forcefully snatch our daily earning rather than working for the cause why they had build their organization they are today more interested in interfering activities starting from development to even a family matter of an individual. Such are the people whom we call Naharol today.

These organizations have forgotten their values why they had been supported by the mass longtime back, people who wanted to preserve the history of a Nation called Manipur. It is now time to remind them that that they also belong to some family and the person who have got killed also belonged to some family. It seems it is going to be a gang war rather than cleansing the society. Now it is only the common Man who can cleanse the society that we boycott such people and organization who are killers and nothing else.

Policemen and intelligents are simply incompetent

[ Tue, May 26, 2009 9:53 am ]

Former Dean assasinated in MU campus is a shocking incident. As I always said prevention is better than cure. Manipuris are fond of protests, bands etc.etc. after the incident instead of thinking how to prevent it from occuring/happenning. In the United States and even in Indian cities you might come across news which say preventive measures has been taken in this or that place since the police know or smell a rat some foul play by miscreants. People are given protection. How do the policemen in USA and even in some Indian cities know that? The simple answer is that they are capable of handling their job. IB(intelligent Bureau) and Police must be given training. For futher recruitment too, selection must be made strictly. Qustions set in the paper must be set with reference to the job. Interview must be conducted so as to find out who the candidate really is. Only suitable candidates must be selected. In the past a person whose hobby is science or geography is simply selected just because he or she is educated. Though education is very must required, it will be more beneficiial to the people if the government can select a person whose hobby is reading detective novels, a person who has keen interest in these feilds and a person who simply has enjoyed such job and willing to stop the crime and, not a person who is willing to protest after the crime. Policemen and intelligents are expected to know who is who. To know that they must first study the movement of each individual and the character of each individual. In a thinly populated like ours it is not that difficult. The truth rather is policemen and intelligents are simply incompetent. The civil administration is incompetent. The politicians are incompetent. How come they(Authorities/Intelligents) know too little about individuals when even the entire population of Manipur is less than the population of a tiny village in mainland India. Policemen must know more and do more for the society.

Meitei are hyprocrite

[ Tue, May 26, 2009 6:25 am ]

Back again to protest. Why everyone was mum when non-locals were killed few weeks back? Why there was no general strike, bandhs, blockade and JAC formed? Is the life of non-local cheaper than the Meitei? It shows we meitei are hyprocrite.

Encounter Specialist - "The Commandos"

[ Wed, May 20, 2009 8:42 am ]

Every day is a just like a hunting day in Manipur. And the hunters are none other than the mighty commandos. Every day they came up with a prey "the insurgents". The unlawful blogs are indeed in recession with a huge metdown prior to the crack downs as of in Lanka. 24/7 encounter happens in Manipur resulting in hacking down of the insurgents and has become the order of the day. And the encounter is really suspicious as of the scenerio being spotted in news with a same lines saying "got information from our intelligents that some insurgents are moving around and while frisking the suspected fired and in retaliation they are dead leaving a pistol and so on..." This is the same line marked every day. But the question is why none of the uniforms is getting wounded having no bullet proof on their bodies. Let it be, but it shows how intelligent and active they are in fighting the opposites. The commandos are really skill-ful and versatile but brave too. Despite all such braveness no gallantry award seem to be confered to those commandos where it shoud be. Without any training center in Manipur nor Mass Commandos are sent for Commandos traning abroad how they fought without any casualities. It's really wonderful. They should be rewarded, awarded and must have a survelliance too.

Like fish in a pond waiting to fry

[ Wed, May 20, 2009 7:23 am ]

Dear lovely Manipuris,
All of us now worry day-to-day activities which is not so important at this hour of time. Do anyone has an Idea What will be the future our society after 10 years from now? We dont have future with distinct one. So many killing in the name of freedom and atrocities by our Goverment of manipur in the name of anti-millitant! Which one is our(people) true friend and foe. Can anyone tell me. We are just like a fish in a pond which is waiting to fry when they need! And all of us are thinking it is alright to live like this way?? Think about those our children and their fate. Our society have no future for our children. We need a revolution which can change our society mindset ( attitude, confident, corruption, working culture, cordination, faithfullness, ). We find even the small children for 5 yrs get a corrupted mind now-a-days. But it is not their fault. We need self changes or reincarnation in ourself, in our spirituality, moral, honesty etc. Every one is using abusive language in little confrontation, arguments, threatenning words etc. This shows how much we are in frustration. I dont have any solution to this except to say to all that by copying others way we can find the result we wnat to give to our children. We can give a good education, cloth, food, home to our children with the money we earn in a corrupted way. But not the morality, spirituality, honesty that can bring peace in their mind. All our effort are useless without getting peace of mind. This is not simple to achieve but not impossible. Please discourage those in fault, dont keep silent when we see any wrongdoing, have courage to say it is " wrong". And it is right. If not we are living in hell.

Govt and civil societies must work together

[ Sun, May 17, 2009 6:56 am ]

"Burning issues of the State like the current trend of killing people on daily basis, protest demonstrations of the public against UG groups, influx of migrant workers and lack of unity among the civil societies have been analysed and discussed on the occasion of 7th foundation day of Ethno Heritage Council."
This is a good sign. People of Manipur are in the habit of expecting all good deeds has to automatically come from the Centre. I dont think Centre will solve our problems especially UG problem. State government and civil societies must work together. The UGs too must learnt that their guns will never give independence. There are thousands of armies in Manipur but their motive does not seems to be about solving the problem. They really dont care. The people and the UGs must wake up, otherwise there is no future for Manipur. All UG or naxal infested States are poor. In many naxal infested areas the people killed by the naxals are mostly policemen and that too their own tribesmen or their kinsmen or of their communities. Sometimes they killed their own people amongst the civilians. They are the losers, not the army nor the Nation(Central government). At times the army pounced on them(naxal or UGs). They (the naxals or UGs) die in vain. Sometimes naxals and another naxal group were set to fight each other. So lets stop expecting something good from those who dont have the slitest intention of solving our problems. Instead we have to wake up and solved it ourselves by stoping our mindless way of showing our grievances to the Central. Showing our grievances or showing our anger by means of guns will not help us. There must be some better ways. The current trend of taking up arms by every community or tribes or organisations has also needs to be analysed properly and discuussed seriously by like minded people.

Mortuary

[ Sat, May 16, 2009 10:03 pm ]

I don't know how many of us think what I am writing is right or wrong but allow me to express my pain and sorrow which I have felt in my heart. I am a product of RIMS at the bingeing that was known as Manipur medical college. At that point of time lamphel was a deserted area, few areas which we can enjoy was the hawa mahal which was build by Late Dr Karam Gopal Singh and the road of Isolation ward near the mortuary with plenty of flowers.

Beside many horses, my Bihari tea stall owner Gopal was the dependable guy which we keep on eating on credit until he was virtually thrown out from his hotel. But I swear the best chicken curry in my life was cooked by my friend Gopal, its better than the Hotel Taj of Mumbai, which I enjoyed recently with my European friends. Although I am not a faculty of RIMS I keep on touch with this institute, my brother has to complete his post graduation from there, presently my daughter following my foot step struggling for her horsemanship in this premier institute. Lately I have to go to RIMS frequently to drop and pick up of my daughter.

Many a time I have to cross the road of mortuary where I can't find a single day where crowd is not there in there mourning dress. In my youthful days this is the road where we the young medicos giggling around in our slang we call it hypering. Many of friends are now professors at RIMS and many of them spread around the world, which we connect through net and others ways of connecting like scientific conferences etc. In seventies post mortem was a very rare occasion if I remember correctly the then pathologist Dr Jugeshore was doing the post mortem examinations may be once in two months or so, our hostel was very near to the mortuary so everybody knows when a post mortem operation is performed. If any post mortem operation is performed nobody was venture out in that night on that particular day we keep silent, we are really afraid of that.

Now I am sure that for the post mortem operation, RIMS will be the best institute in the world to learn it, and of course I swear nobody in Manipur will proud of this, but we can't help it this is our destiny. Another painful thing is that, perhaps in whole over the world you may not find a security guard for a doctor, our superintendent and director are protected with arm guards, why to the doctors, because we are soft target or are we the scum of the society? I am really afraid to ask it but with my folding hand I am putting this question to all the right thinking people of Manipur do we deserve to end our life like this, sometime end up as an unclaimed bodies.

Do the paper currencies of India printed at Nasik is more valuable than life of we Manipuri's? My last wish is that before I die I want to see a peaceful Manipur where post mortem operation is became a rare occasion. I know time will tell, but my heart is paining for those parents who lost there near and dear one waiting to complete the operation at the mortuary, that is never going to bring back life in this world. Lord if you are here in this world please bring peace to this place call Manipur.

Are you listening??

Manipur is "money put"

[ Wed, Apr 01, 2009 12:07 am]

Where is the jewel of India? This question lies in the labyrinth of injustice done to one and all in the state called Manipur. Each day (say) on an average 3 male are killed resulting in year 3 x 365 = 1095 males are killed by factors known to the killers themselves. (Herewith the factors is not mentioned). Within a span of few decades the male-female ration will go down so much giving a negative trend in the demography. Brazen face, lie with lips and no fear to die are the much needed to survive in Manipur. The female portion of the population has resorted to unethical means for livelihood. The over population of females in Khwairamband Bazaar is just the tip of the iceberg. The bazaar has overflowed after saturation with ladies who return home with few kilogram of rice each evening in a worn out jeep. Where is the Sanaleibak (golden Land) in this scene? Especially the male youth ranging from the age of 25 to 38 years has to suffer a lot in the struggle for existence. With job giving institution becoming meager and meager, a day will come when no youth remains in Manipur when 90% of them go outside and undertake inhuman jobs/labour only for the target of existence. There is no question that girls, on the other hand will not stay idle. One the realistic trend which has cropped in Manipur is: One girl will get herself married to a man under circumstances. She will stay for some time and return back to her maternal home under lie filled pretexts. Later when such deserted man marries other girls, the first gird will resort to "Izzat dabi" to the man. (Begging your pardon, ladies in this website) It won't be wrong to mention that parent possesing daughters are making booms of money by the above mentioned techniques. Watch out guys !!! Manipur is "money put". A well known joke in Manipur is "percentage". There is percentage culture right from a plate of rice (chakluk) to a contract done by any agency. As long as this culture exists no planning & development can take place. Watch out, younger generations! The epoch of "chahi chatret khuntakpa" (seven hundred devastation) has already begun. Life filled with "Ex gratia, Izzat Dabi", corruptions in all spheres coupled with " no utilization certificates" are the azure gems which are engraved in this Sanaleibak- the golden Land.

Unfortunate to hear non-local are murdered

[ Wed, Mar 04, 2009 5:59 pm ]

It's really unfortunate to hear that non local are murdered. It's right time for the people of Manipur to realize that we are inter-dependent on each other. When compare to people of other states in India, we, Manipuri, are more scattered all over India and abroad. We are proud to say that half of the students of Manipur are out of state for their furthur studies and thousands of people are working struggling for survival due to non-availability of job in Manipur. If this situation happen to the people of Manipuri, what would be our reaction and our condition. It's the resposibility of the people of Manipur to see the pros and cons of murder non local people. I pray that this problem does not happen again.

Are they not Manipuri enough?

[ Tue, Mar 03, 2009 2:44 pm ]

Respected Sir,

Fews days back, I wrote an e-mail with subject "Are we not Indian enough?", to all the leading Indian media as a part of raising collective voices against not highlighting the situation in Manipur following the brutal killing of Dr. Kishan and his associate staffs.(Refer below). I expressed my shock to the Indian media for not showing enough respect and care to Manipur and its people. One week after that, 3 non-Manipuri are killed in Manipur. To my surprise and more shock, I see the same mistake Manipuri media is doing. Its been 3 days, vew few condolences flowing in, the Manipuri media seem to remain silent about the issue in the same way the Indian media were silent. I hope we are not among those who sweep others courtyard before we sweep ours.

They are as much Manipuri as we are Bangalorean/Delhites/Mumbains. I come to Bangalore far from my homeland in the hope for better future. They also would have come to Manipur with the same hope. I expect Karnataka and its people to protect and respect me, they would also have the same expectation from Manipur and its people. The question that I asked to Indian media, I am asking the same question to the Manipuri media, are they not Manipuri enough?

non-locals or meitei : whose human rights?

[ Mon, Mar 02, 2009 2:13 am]

The death toll of non-locals have risen to three in the last 48 hours. our 'e-hou' and human rights groups raise hell when our own community people are killed and keep _quiet_ when others are killed. It is high time that we put our foot down now and say, killing is killing, whether it is meitei, naga, kuki, pangal or non-locals.

The Law Keeper's money problem

[ Mon, Feb 09, 2009 2:52 am ]

I'm not sure who's reading this message at the other end. The problem that's been troubling me in the past few days may not be only mine. In fact, every manipuris are aware of this fact but like I have tried to console myself, everyone else must have ignored it. After all, it's not my personal problem. No doubt, there's problem everywhere. Manipur is no exception. I am not bothered about who's killing who and why? or who's looting who and why? . . .the answers, if you ask those concerned will definitely say . . . for a better Manipur. Do you believe them? I guess not. Why is Manipur in the news? Killings, Extortion, grenade hurled etc. etc. The main problem is insurgency and the means to contain this problem is political dialogue . . . . between the govt. and the insurgents, but here comes another problem, which group is to be approached, presuming the govt. is willing to do so. Till this problem is settled, the govt. is relying on the police authorities to check the unwanted activities of the . . . . you know who. Among the police authorities, the so called Commandos. How trained and fit are they for the job? That's a serious question, a very serious one.. In the name of the rising anti-social activities, the govt is recruiting a number of police personnel and IRBs. Yes, of course, the system requires them. But, are the recruitments conducted in good terms. NO, recruitment of police personnel and IRBs ahve become a means to acquire a lot of wealth for the politicians and top ranking police officers. Even a child of 6-7 years will tell you how much you need to to become a Sub inspector of police, a Jemadar, constable or riflemen. How can these people do any good when their first experience of the system is a false note. So, who should we look out for when we are in a problem? . . . . the militants who try very hard to be a robinhood but get carried away by the greed of power and money Or the police who keeps thinking of retrieving their huge amount they paid to be what they have become . . .The Law Keeper

Killing as if it's going out of fashion

[ Thu, Jan 29, 2009 12:44 am ]

The East District Commandos still continue killing as if it's going out of fashion. They don't know to which UG group the slain belong too. They will never know as the man was never a UG, just an unfortunate innocent man and a victim of commandos brutality. The encounter claim is a joke. Every cold blooded murder is an encounter for them. Is there an end to this madness at all.

There is a thing call karma

[ Thu, Dec 25, 2008 4:41 am ]

Yes Manipur is a killing field. What is unique is that the people who are employed to protect us are the ones responsible for these senseless killing. Its high time the commandos realised that they are butchering innocent people in the name of combating the underground groups. Don't they have any feelings for all the troubles they have caused. Are they real people or what!! Why are they killing people instead of protecting them. The killer commandos are the real murderers. If they think that they have the right to kill then they should realise that there is a thing call karma. They will get it back in some form or the other and that will come back really bad. Can they create life and give us back what they have taken. They cannot so they have no right to take others life. Criminals. I hope they rot in hell.

"Terrorist out there roaming around with guns"

[ Sun, Dec 21, 2008 7:52 am ]

I have lived out of Manipur for as long as 6 years now. During my college days and even today at work place when I say that I am from Manipur...people ask "Is it true that there are only terrorist out there roaming around with guns?" in the beginning I used to be angry...Do I look like a terrorist? Why don't the Indian Government and the Indians understand the problems we are facing? but with time I have learnt to control myself and always manage to reply back with a literary kick and a smile.

Recently, I had gone home for "Ningol Chakouba" and would never want to visit again. There were terrorist everywhere walking around with GUNS. People or organization who terrorize, bring fear in the heart of common men are called terrorist. This terrorist in Manipur is different from other terrorists in the world. They are the one recruited by the government, salaried, trained and well equipped. They roam around in gypsies and bikes; they are known as "Commandos" and "Indian Reserve Battalion". They were created to bring peace to the 'valley of gems' but now they are here to terrorize the people. One cannot roam freely even during broad daylight leave alone night. I was told to be home before sunset; was asked not to carry lot of money or costly mobile by my parent and love ones. They said that I know nothing of what is happening around. During my 10 days of stay, I was physically checked uncountable number of times. My identity card was of no interest to them but they seem to like my Debit cards and Credit cards. They liked my mobile phones too. After all that they asked which group I belong to? In the end, I said my uncle is also in the police (gave his name and designation); within minutes I was freed.

The next time they didn't stop me for checking; I guess my uncle was a powerful person. I experienced and heard so much of what is happening in the present Manipur during the 10 days visit that I felt pity and sad for my parent and people those who are staying there. How are you people living in that condition? I don't see anything better coming in, all I see is blood, fire, and death. What is happening with Manipur? How can it ever gain peace again? Who or what are the answers The Government? I don't think so. The Police? they are the terrorist now. The militants - no next thing to impossible. The people? they have already given up. I cannot do anything to better it myself, all I can do is bring my old parent out with me and forget about Manipur. But my parent had lived their lives there and wants to die there. I am trying to convince them that one cannot even die in peace there. Hope they will listen to me soon deep inside me even I want to comeback and live in Manipur with my parent, get married, have kids and die in my motherland but I hope and pray that the people of Manipur will wake up soon and bring about a revolution and alter everything and turn Manipur into a peaceful and beautiful place once again.

Press - part of the problem?

[ Sat, Nov 29, 2008 4:41 am ]

At any cost, press and other related people should give or provide news to the public, must update the day to day happening so that people i.e manipuri who are around the globe could understand the real problem. Throw the light from all the angle..IN order to gain public support it needs to be publicised, I must say by not giving news to the public is not the solution to the problems but is the part of the problems..

Indigenous people would be extinct soon

[ Fri, Nov 28, 2008 6:18 am ]

This is really a frustrating part for those who love to read news regularly especially for my belove hometown as I'm staying away from home for my workplace somewhere in Delhi for which I feel like e-pao is the only source for us. I would not like to judge people overthere who is right or wrong but giving capital punishment sounds quite inhumanity. We need to change our pattern of thinking as we feel Manipur as a killing field which is really stupid. We all are brother and sister, if we kill each other, our indigenous people of Manipur would definitely one day to be extinct which we never think off. My motto is we can "change" everything to a well organised Manipur. Let's unite and bring prosperity and peace for the welfare of the people. Let us save our land, culture, people and many more which will share in later part. So, I would like to request e-pao to continue ongoing service for which news is very important part of life.

Govt's lack of seriousness

[ Thu, Nov 27, 2008 11:39 pm ]

The Indian government's lack of seriousness in dealing with terrorism is the reason terrorists keep on striking in the country. As I watch this news of terror in Mumbai, India I am reminded of the terror on October 30 that killed at least 40 people and injuring more than 200 in 13 serial bomb blasts in Assam. This grave news was not covered in CNN as much like the Mumbai Blast. In North-east India people are being killed everyday for one reason or the other. Human lives have been not respected anymore. Money is flowing and free as guns and bombs are distributed freely and readily available. At least 40 people were killed and more than 200 injured in 13 serial bomb blasts in Assam. A high-level central team comprising senior Home Ministry officials did visit Assam to make an on-the-spot assessment of the blast. When asked about who could be behind the blasts, Union home secretary Madhukar Gupta he said it was too early to identify the group.

Human life has been degraded

[ Thu, Nov 27, 2008 7:12 am ]

Its very shocking and disbelieve that there is no daily news in Manipur, as of that couldn't read the updates on e-pao.net. Manipur is really in sorry state. Value of human life has been degraded. Morality, self respect, values for work, respect for others has been deminishing. Killings has become daily cores of life at Manipur. Govt has fail to protect the life and property of common man, which is prerequisite for any governance to exist. I personally support your cause and also feel that its you who is going to echo the voice of our people for any undone in our society & taking us to righteouness and better society.

Killing Us or Killing them

[ Wed, Nov 26, 2008 11:44 pm ]

Both things happen to every person in Manipur, all the civilians in Manipur are one way connected(blood ties or money) to Police or (blood ties or money)Rebel groups- there are no solution to these problems- Lets just move ahead with whatever is happening until the last point where people shout for War instead of peace. There will be no winners-

Manipur reeling for want of 'press freedom'

[ Tue, Nov 25, 2008 1:59 am ]

When was the last time you heard something good happening in Manipur? Just a couple of days ago, right? Yes, this small state situated in the extreme east is in the news again for one old stale reason - bloodshed. The killing of Konsam Rishikanta (25), a journalist working with the Imphal Free Press, has shocked the whole nation. One big reason why Manipur still remains backward is lack of 'Press Freedom'. The people of the land have buried something that the civilized call the Fourth Estate of the state, the guardians of democracy, watchdog of the society and defenders of the public interest. Media plays a big role in the development of a state.

Besides providing information, it checks the activities of the government and thus helps curb corruption. India is one of the few countries in the world that gives lots of importance to freedom of press because democracy can't run without it. Media establishments in major cities of the country do enjoy lots of freedom. But sadly, there is no press freedom in Manipur. Journalists in the state are always under fear - fear of being killed. Fair and unbiased reporting is not possible due to restrictions and threats from various underground outfits, and the government too seems to be least bothered. Various underground outfits want media to report what they want. Politicians want media to carry what they want. If a newspaper carries a news article against them, only God knows the kind of trouble it would face. This way media in Manipur becomes just a puppet in the hands of the bureaucrats and the underground outfits. It's high time the media in the state be given free hand because it serves the society. Bureaucrats and underground outfits should stop interfering in the working of the media establishments if they want to see change in Manipur.

No coverage in National Daillies

[ Mon, Nov 24, 2008 9:48 am ]

After the killing of Sub Editor of Imphal Free Press, AMWJU has decided to publishing news from 20th november onward. As I m staying outside Manipur, I used to read news in e-pao.net almost everyday. Now I dont know what is happening in Manipur. The Government of Manipur must do something. It cannot remain as a silent spectator. Today, I read in THE HINDU newspaper that Manipur Govt. as well as the Opposition is completely silent on the issue. It is shameful to know such thing from a national newspaper. THE TIMES OF INDIA and HINDUSTAN TIMES has not reported yet about the decision of AMWJU not to publish news till their rightful demand is not made.

Kangleipak living in stone age

[ Fri, Nov 21, 2008 7:18 am ]

We are fed up with the numerous militants or should i say numerous terrorists group of Manipur. Extortion of money and killing of innocent people for money is the only motto. Looking carefully at the ongoing law and order situation of the State, it is of great shame for the people of Manipur as we live in the stone age in this land of kangleipak. The word 'people' should be replaced with its correct word 'animals'. We, the people want peace. But, our ministers and bureaucrates never wants to end this game for they make the most out of it. When the head of the family is doing unjustice how can you expect other family members to act and behave in a fair way. 'Like father like son' as it is said.

So shocking to know

[ Wed, Nov 19, 2008 3:38 am ]

It is so shocking to know that a young sub-editor of IMPHAL FREE PRESS has been shot dead. Those who have killed the journalist should come forward and give the right reason which is acceptable to all the people of kangleipak and the world. When I told my friends, they are also shocked. It is not a good thing to kill anyone. Even if he or she has commited a crime, he should be brought in front of court and let the judge decides what punishment to be given. Summary execution must be avoided. It has no place in a civilized world. It should be condemned by one and all.

Brutal killings by the commandos

[ Sat, Nov 15, 2008 11:21 pm ]

Are people aware of the brutal killings by the commandos all in the name of combating terrorist and safety for the people. Why are they still killing innocent people and branding them as suspected underground elements. They know the slain people are innocent ordinary citizens but they still go ahead and murder them. Most of the commandos come from the lower starta of society, almost all of them are metric fail, ignorant, uneducated with primitive outlooks. Once they get hold of guns they love to use it without a care for others. The guns give them a flase sense of superiority and they will not hesitate to kill without provocation. It is really painfull to see these trigger happy taking the law in their hand. Only when a minister or politician kins/family are killed the corrupt politicians will react. They don't care if your relative or family are butchered by the commandos. Let's wake up and do someting before we lose our brothers. This has to stop, its been going on for too long.

As you saw , so shall you reap....

[ Sat, Nov 15, 2008 5:01 am ]

The present situation in manipur is very disheartening and there seems to be a complete breakdown in the law and order situation and the present government is doing nothing about it. Its not the goverment's fault anyways what can these uneducated and corrupt politicians do when they are are so busy collecting back the money they spend while running for assembly election. There is no time to look into such issues as corruption, Law and order break-down, unemployement at all....I mean distributing upto Rs 500/- per family is not a joke, i can't imagine how difficult it must be for the MLA's to raise that amount of fund before the election in a relatively poor state like Manipur. I can't imagine how much liabilites they might have accumulated and that needs to be paid off once they are into power.

Poor fellows have to squeeze out and pay off those liabilities from the government funds which are indirectly meant for the people who sold their future and career for just that Rs.500/-!!!! And I dont know why these people are blameing the government for all these problems and miseries. I think they should recollect that the Rs.500/- they took from the local MLA was the price the got for selling their career, selling themselves, their future and the future of the comming generations.

What I am trying to say is that we made these corrupt politicians to come into power and control our life in all possible way. We created them and we dont have the right to blame them for all our worries and sorrows. We should blame ourselves as we saw these seeds and we have to reap the consiquences. If we had nominated well educated politicians who has atleast the confidence and ability to raise their voice in the centre regarding the problems faced by the common people, Well educated and ethical policians who believe in fare practice in selections for Government jobs, who had the self respect and the ability to take resposibility for its actions and perform his/her duty with honesty and integrity....Manipur state would be in a much! better situation then it is now....

So people please dont complain if you are facing difficulties...because you are the person responsible for it....

Why should we fight against one another?

[ Fri, Nov 14, 2008 11:02 am ]

Why's life in Manipur so terrible? The news is always full of Shootings and Deaths. Where are we heading? What exactly is the Goals of all these underground factions? Why cant we all just live in PEACE? We all know thats the only way to progress. Our people are inherrently so gifted in so many ways. Whether its Nagas, Meiteis or Kukis, When we are outside Manipur, We all are one, We feel one among others and are always there for each other. Why not at home? We shouldnt fight for land. The entire Geography of Manipur should be for all of us and we should be all called Manipuris and that should be above all ethnic Groups. If America can have citizens of Black, White, Brown and Yellow origin and throw up a Black Pressident, Why should we fight against one another? Lets have Peace and I'm sure there's no reason why we lag behind anybody in the world.

What about a "Death Counter"?

[ Thu, Nov 13, 2008 11:52 pm ]

It's really good to see that "the timeline of killing" is maintaining accurately since past one year. Also, thanks to the effort of Ta Ringo without which "the timeline of killing" would not have been materialized. I'm wondering if you can put a COUNTER (of number of killings) which is incremented with the number of killing per day will make more impact to the general people and also make them realize how badly the state is affected due to this militancy. Please see whether my idea / suggestion is feasible in your current scheme of things.

Another innocent man is gunned down..

[ Sat, Nov 08, 2008 11:42 pm ]

Another innocent man is gunned down all in the name of combating terrorist/UG groups. It is the cowardly commandos again, the criminals in uniform. Why is it so easy to kill someone? Are the people of Manipur blind or they just don't care as long as its someone not from their family. The JAC formed after every murder is only for the name sake, or are they terrorise by the the same forces. Judicial inquiry sound very good on papers but they dont exist. After a few days the poor family is left alone and grieving. Ex-gratia promise by the government will never come. Can we do something to stop this brutal murders by the security forces. Its been going on for too long and something should be done before we loose all our innocent brothers.

Shoot on sight is the best way

[ Thu, Nov 06, 2008 4:04 am ]

This is a land where humanity is high among deaths. What is the state dominating for? For nagaland or the residence of local MLA's or police commandos or the terrorist. A person with an assualt rifle representating democracy and not liable to be a common man or police or terorists. They want money to be rich....but at the cost of the hard savings from civilians. Throwing bombs at people's residence for extortion and their excuse, not supporting their cause of a free state. What the heck is that? This is not revolution; this is a total massacre. they kill people and implements that they know only how to create a chaos and asking for forgiveness. They kill a someone, a husband, son, brother......... and thamoi shokna awaba phondokchari. Thats it.

We need to kill all the available resources that disrupts our life, our freedom. Drinking, selling / buying of liquor is banned by the so called light bearers. Why don't they stay at home and take care of their families. Keisamthong khun da yoo yo li but AMADA, CADA and the rest do not have the guts to stop that. Can we demand for an explanation? ok fine, I support their cause. It is a very good gesture. But they can't be above the law. Catching a yoo ngaoba and keeping in their custody for more then 24 hours is not a priviledge that even the state police can't even endure. So are they the law or the sarkar or a bunch of pests? And who gave them the authority to beat an addict within their premises?

I witnessed the death of a friends elder brother. Killed while shopping at a market. married for one and a half year, has a daughter of 3 years old. his fault, he was shopping at a store that has been marked to be bombed by a terrorist group. The outfit responsible, shoikhare. What is going on? The outfits(all of Manipur), are on the payroll of their ownselfs. collect money in the name of revolution, hey, actually it is extortion. thika touba, fund neeba, restaurant panna ba, uniform code pannaba, talab, khani ,sp gooli ban touba.... much more. We all encourage that but that should be an expandable activity. fight with the armies, state force . nope....we are all brothers...so no khut thaba. buy weapons, recruit cadres, die for the cause and not for the money that they get. Jihadi's of AL-QAIDA, their cause, a free country, living on their own religions and terms but still they are terrorists. but the bravest of all; to be a suicide bomber for their cause.

In Manipur, forget about that; they piss in their pants at the sight of state commandos. They are very brave in posting tabloids on the local newspapers. no IT companies, no growth in industries because of the fear of stupid donations (extortions again). so no company plans for business in Manipur just because that is their kind of governance. And the local MLA's, supporting organisations....... just for a few lakhs. escorting them in their state issued convoys to places(vehicle transport). AND a really stupid case of giving arms to outfits on the pretext of being hijacked on a route where their is no permission to travel ordering not for a drawback firing issued at that place. The DGP of Imphal did the right thing by withdrawing the escorts of that illiterate MLA. And the case of being insulted of a local MLA by an Indian Army Officer by detaining his escort while frisking them and the brave state forces stood their as mere spectators.

O' dear prajas of Manipur, lets ban these groups so that we can live in peace and harmony. No terrorists means no armies, no central forces; only our state forces. I know that what I'm saying is correct to my last point. They will absolutely try to identify me and put a bullet in my head. what the heck? I have already died many times in my life. Lets wake up, let us stand for our rights.

Who are they to ban Hindi in Manipur? Right to speak, right to freedom of religion.....!!They can't rule or dictate us. Shoot on sight is the best way that should be ordered to the state force and the paramilitary forces. If they can gun down anyone for any reason, the police should also do that. This is my feedback for the state of Manipur.

Manipur Rising

[ Wed, Nov 05, 2008 7:31 am ]

Hope the subject catches the people. But many wont agree with me. And I know the reason. No need for euphemisms. Manipur is in a worst case scenario. Bomb blast anytime, anuwhere; corruption becoming a household word; pollution level rising like anything; traffic gone haywire; no uninterrupted power supply even in the capital; the list is endless. But in the contrary, the confidence level of the youth is rising. Its like a never before, unprecedented effect of the malaise affecting the state. How can negatives bring a positive attitude in the youth?

What happened to killers of Lungnila?

[ Sat, Nov 01, 2008 4:20 am ]

I have been hoping that the proud Manipuris would punish the killers of the little girl named Lungnila. I am surprised that after five years of investigation etc nothing has materialised. shame on you all! What has happened to you all. Have you all forgotten the incident? Think about the pain the little girl must have suffered while she was put to death. I am a sad man today.

No gold medal for bombing...

[ Sun, Oct 26, 2008 7:34 am ]

Firstly, I would like to wish the e-pao team happy diwali and nigol chakouba. To be a well developed state with peace we have to uproot **Terrorism** Even if the people have done anything wrong who gave them the right to take lifes. They are trying to make our Ema Manipur worst. Its so shameful when people from different state says that your Manipur is a place of terror this and that. They think that Manipur is a place like a hell. Terrorism is not making things right they want to make a terror in the peoples heart. Are they all perfect? Who are they? Are they god? In between politics and terrorism we the puplic is the only one who is going to suffer. It might take lots of years but there has to be something done as a start to uproot **terrorism**. but we public has also got to something. Its our state but can we walk freely or do something freely, there is always a fear. For every single earning from a public there is always a percentage for them. Do they think that a middle class family can bear that? Its ok if they have ever tried to help a poor family or public mentally or financially. Which i think they have never done except filling up their own pockets. These are small things but without a small thing there is no big thing. Its a shameful thing for them bombing anywhere or anyplace they like and after that claiming that they are behind the blast as if they have won a gold medal..... I want my manipur to be peace and well developed.

Migrant workers in Manipur

[ Sat, Oct 25, 2008 3:29 pm ]

If the people of Manipur don't want the unskilled migrant workers from India, they should do the job these migrant workers are doing. Its true that vast majority of the migrant workers are uneducated and unskill and are a drain to the economy rather than a boon. But that does not meant they should be attacked and killed.

Uproot terrorism from Manipur

[ Thu, Oct 23, 2008 1:56 am ]

It is very painful to see my state in this present situation just for the wrong deeds by some miscreants. I am a doctor by profession, wants to come back to my hometown and serve my people. However,at the present scenerio it appears like a far dream. There isn't a day passed for me without scrolling through the Manipur local dailies......just to get dejected and frustrated. Manipur can only become developed and peaceful by uprooting those who work against the interest of the people. This is not the time to talk but the time to show action... militants in Manipur are still in juvenile state. Little act of maturity is not shown as most of the militants get annoyed on criticism and happy on praising. However one or two underground groups appear to be somewhat gentle and genuine as they respect peoples' sentiments.
Life is still beautiful if we all stand united.....God please give peace to my land...... .

Condemn the Ragailong blast

[ Thu, Oct 23, 2008 1:43 am ]

Every now and then there is always news about killings, and the recent blast did the same, every body is wondering why again? Why are you killing in the name of people, let the people live their own way, lets do something good so that we could have better competition in the process of development not in the race of killing, lets go for the competition in other field not in the field of destruction, lets make organizations for the welfare of people not for just collecting money to buy weapons, let collect money to improve technology and allround development, lets do everything which would be good for the people by the people and to the people. And for God's sake lets stop killing, God bless all of us. May the souls rest in peace. God bless "Sanaleibak Manipur"

Dear Killers - Have mercy

[ Wed, October 22, 2008 7:26 am ]

Didn't you see any good things your life? I really feel pity for you all. Please don't just think of killing others. We are here on this earth only for once. Is peace really bitter for you? Is love and care you saw in others life really troubling you? Don't you have any pity for others? If you want to show that you exist then go and fight with those who have guns and bombs? Why are you all trying to show your power with lay and innocent people who have nothing in their hands? For God sake please never think that you are doing a wise job by killing innocent people. I beg you and I urge you not to torn and make the bad situation of our state to worst. Let us join hands to have peace and love in our state....please look at those family members whose love and dear ones are killed in the bomb blast planted by you. pls see... pls see... don't you have any mercy.............. Please for God sake never repeat such act again in your life. Thank you so much..............I am begging you please don't repeat such act......have mercy on those who wants to live in peace.

Bomb and road diversion non-sense

[ Wed, Sep 03, 2008 12:45 am ]

I feel so weird reading the news about the public route diversion so that it cannot touch the CM rented house, the basic concept of CM being the representative of the public is all a non sense. it is like a dictatow rule in the democratic land. i am just wondering how the fellow Manipuris are tolerating and suffering from all this sort of dictatorship. Honestly, it don't really bother me as I don't live in India and will never live for long there as i had set a base in a country where the public right is best respected. But still, it hurts to see my fellow Manipuris being subjected to such action in this electronic age. I have a few suggestion to my dear manipuri lawmaker and the CM to make the situation better.

1. Why not CM rented house be shifted to inner banglow or unit inside babupara, CM bangalow doesn't mean the CM should always live there. Try to be creative and be a leader in doing new things, don't be a follower. Anyway that is not CM parental property, it can be change anytime, come on old blokes, use your gray cell. Babupara inside is more secured, you guys need not divert all the trafic just close the gate towards guest house and the gate towards education dept. that is it.
2. The trafic is already a confusion, why not start the traffis light system again insted of wasting resources in funding stupid projects or groups. The worlds is so far advanced that prople have the right to use the road as a constitutional right. Let the manipuri get used to the traffic lights.
3. Respect the right of the public in everything, only after that manipur can become a great tourist potential. who knows?

Govt is keeping it under carpet

[ Wed, Jul 16, 2008 7:45 am ]

In this age of IT and advance science, it is a joke to the people of Manipur that Government is not able to identify yet who are the murderes of Migrant workers. The fact is they know the truth, but keeping it under carpet. Can anyone believe this: Government does not know them yet and could not arrest any one? Or have they announced any award to get the murderers? No,they havn't? Why have they not prevented this serial killer? Because they don't want to. Imphal is not so crowded, everyone knows who live next door. And much easier in the other areas, very sparcely populated. Where are the intelligence and where are the cops? Ibobi is the head of Home Ministry..he knows almost every things....who kill who and for what in the State. I think he should be drilled first.

Migrant workers and economic growth

[ Tue, Jul 15, 2008 4:25 am ]

The issue of Migrant workers is of a paramount importance at this crucial cross situation of Manipur. I agree. But also we need to look at the importance of migrant workers parallel to our aspiration of economic growth.

Mr. Seram, please look at the demographic profile of all the developed places/cities around the world. A bit enlargemnt of your vision would do. Do not concentrate only to Manipur/NE/India. Ok, let's start from Mumabi. Do you think, Mumbai would have achievd today's status without the immigrants contribution there? The finest people in Mumbai are mostly from immigrants, this is the hard fact. If you look at the attitude and character of Marathi, with all due respect, they are very lazy and arrogant by nature. Have you ever been to Pune or Mumbai? You will come to know the difference between the locals and non locals. Yet, they are envious of other's prosperity. You may argue that, Manipur do not have higly potential immigrants who are worth welcomming, like in ~Mumbai? No outsiders are in fact stopping the industrialist to set up business there in Manipur. In fact governemnt is ready to give handsome subsidies to those who go there and set up the business. This is the reason why there is a seperate ministry for NE. And the Indstrialist are also ready to go there. But who is stopping there? Our own people. I remeber, Some Australian and French Companies wanted to start oil exploring and mining company in Nagaland, but NSCN warned them with dire consequence, hence they gave up. It was estimated to have generated around 1000 jobs. So the crux of the problems lies between you and me. Why to use blame games?

Then. let's go to the world. Can you believe almost 20% of Taxi drivers in USA are from Indian origin and at the same time, 25% of NASA scietist are from Indian origin. What I mean is , both skill and non skill labours are required for the growth of the place. So, when the locals in Manipur are too lazy to do hard manual labour, and always dream about becomming 'BABU'someday, in order to pursue our developement, there is no harm in employing the non-locals for the purpose. May be then we will learn and compete with them one day.

Why do immigrants come there? Because, there is a vacume of opportunties existing there, which Manipuris abhore to fill in, and that's why they come and fill in. If you dnot get a job, would you mind selling 'sugar cane juice' extracting from manual mobile machine?

So far as restricting the entries of non locals to Manipur, it is a very debatable issue. Unless we become a seperate country, that will be very difficult. There is no national and international law in this regard. However, there are strong and powerful laws that can save our identities, both from national as well as international law point of view. But the only condition is , we have to accept the framwork of Indian constitution. Minority rights is one of the laws applicable for us, we can extensively invoke and get use of this law in order to protect our identity and thus it can restrict flooding of non-locals in Manipur too. However, our armed brothers do not like to accept the constitution or even for going a talk with them. Indian constitution has the scope of amending it, we can force them to amend some laws in our benefits why not. So it is we ourselves who are the obstacles to any developemnts. So why to blame othersm except you and me.

Armed Force Special Power Act, it cover all of North Eastern State . Why is only Manipur staunchly against this act? you know and I know. Also you know and I know, it will not go unless our youth disarmed themselves or all the NE states stir together against this act, which is very very unlikely. Then, what to do? Either we have to ask UGs to talk to the government or we have to talk to the UGs. To solve the problem once and for all, the only solution is either to go for the government or for the UGs. Standing in the midway, you and me will remain suffer forever.

Think about "Brotherhood"

[ Sun, Jul 13, 2008 4:07 pm ]

Its a shame to hear the news of killing 'hindi-speaking' in Manipur. I want to know what they got in return of killing innocent people. Thats ridiculous! We should think globally, a brotherhood. Killing of innocent, thats' too a daily wages labourer, is an act of cowardice. Yes, I do, a Manipuri, proud to be, but that doesn't mean that we should kill all the non-manipuris who's residing in our states and prove ourself strong and patriotic. And one thing, do they ever care of the people? the society? the state? If yes, then why they did such a shameful and cowardice act? Think about those Manipuris who reside in other states of India. Had they ever thought of their own bothers and sisters will be suffering after their act? Don't they ever try to know whats' other states will react to the killing of hindi spaeking people? Don't they ever care of other Manipuris who are in other states? The students, the employess, and so on...... C'mon, Lets live, lets think about brotherhood.

Future - Dark, very dark

[ Wed, Jul 02, 2008 5:33 am ]

I am in Pune since 2000, that time I thought that after few years Manipur will be well develop if not so well but to some extend. But, now I can see that instead of developing its deteriorating, people are becoming more uncivilized going back with the thoughts of inhumanity killing people who dont belong to them . Its really an act of uneducated people who dont want to use their brain at all, who only follow the brains of others and act as puppet. If the situation is going to continue, the future of Manipur is still dark very dark. People must grow up with broad mind and remove the act of violence. Nothing is late to change for better. Let us try together to make our Manipur really a SANA LEIBAK MANIPUR.

"Killer" Commandos?

[ Tue, 10 Jun 2008 23:55:44 -0400 ]

My heart aches for Tiken's family. I understand where they are comming from. I experienced this terrible loss last year when the commandos brutally murdered my younger brother and his two friends in cold blood and branded them as UG. He was a family man with a one year old child. The commandos have robbed him of his father, rendered my sister in law a widow. Inspite of assurance by politicians and other government organisation nothing happened. I am sure the commandos responsible for Tiken's murder is free and ready to kill the next one. My prayers are with the family and God will give them courage. There is no end to these senseless murder. I strongly believe in Karma and what you do to others will come your way too. Is there an end to this horrible chapter at all? Please condemn the commandos as they are the real killers.

Of fish, water, pond and bomb...

[ Tue, 27 May 2008 03:27:34 -0400 ]

I have come across the news of bomb blast in RIMS compound. And media has made it public that the blast was done by one revolutionary party. Very unfortunate ! If it is true then I want to ask few questions to the revolutioneries. Are they real revolutionary? Do they really know what is people's revolution ? Planting bombs in precious institutions like RIMS is really , totally unfortunate & sad thing, which the party should not have done it. People like me are confused by such mindless / headless acts by these anti-social & anti-peace elements. Every one knows that such acts are nothing but Terrorism. These, so called, parties should understand that they are like fish in a pond and people are like water in the pond. They should start imagining & thinking what will happen when the water in the pond becomes dirty, poisonous or unfavourable for the fishes. I think that will the end for them. Still it seems that they do not realise that committing such acts (bomb blast, killings etc.), is making so much dirts in the water of the pond. Hope they realise now and act accordingly. Otherwise Time is running out for them. People are already fed up and opting for peace. PEACE PEACE PEACE....!

The killing never stop..

[ Mon, 12 May 2008 01:52:28 -0400 ]

E-pao is the source of news for many of us who are away from home. Great job and thanks to the e-pao team who keep us updated. A sincere request to the team. Please update the photo galleries section, they are too old and it would be great if photos from the current time is features. As much as I like to visit e-pao, I don't have the courage sometimes as I don't want to know who was killed or murdered by the Commandos in cold blood. The killing never stop and every brutal killing by them is claimed as self-defence/encounter. How can it be self-defence when the people killed by them are innocent civilians and many of them have not seen a gun in their life. Something should be done and Manipur does not need them.

Commandos killing people left, right and centre

[ Sun, 30 Mar 2008 04:18:36 -0400 ]

Can someone let me know why the commandos are killing people left right and centre. In the name of flushing out/controling the insurgents they murdered many innocent people in cold blood, depriving many of their father, brother, uncle, friend and the only bread earner of the family. These killers in uniform are spoiling the name of commandos who are recruited to protect us from UG and anti social elements. Is it ever going to stop? This has to change. The state is crying and dying.

Dear state lover's

[ Thu, 27 Mar 2008 11:24:50 -0400 ]

I extent my deep condolences to the two young girls who was killed on the fatefull day due to the negligence of our lovely 'state lover' brother and sister who are fighting for the state. But my question is are they really fair to the innocent who are living in the state. Is that okay when they extent help to the family of the victim who is no more or are they going to come back with their mere sorry? Do they can answer all this so what we all are doing and waiting for. I am pretty sure that inspite of bringing change to the new generation and developed state they will drag down to the old stone age where one day we all be walking nude. So I hope it all our right to eliminate them and without the support of the public they will starve and die soon as fish out of water. It always good to think twice before it's done and a mere sorry is not the word to heal the would. I wish a speedy recovery of the young girl who is under treatment and get well soon.

See media is a great power to express ideas in a positive manner
But the situation in imphal is not the one we one to see
Live and let live
You people who are doing all these should think the drawbacks
Why you all doing these to them
Is this what you say a communal country
Are you not a part of India
Manipur is rich in her cultural activities n sports
Why dont u try to develop manipur
Is developing not a part in manipur
You people should go ahead and do all possible efforts to make manipur a truly jewel of India
Its loosing its identity
Shame on all such acts

Forget the Govt of Manipur

[ Mon, 24 Mar 2008 08:25:43 -0400 ]

Just as Tapta has sung. "ning tamba tallagabu Indian Army ubada ki". Whoever has done this act cannot be pardoned at all. It's about time the Government of India acts. It will be good if we forget the government of Manipur. No one in the government of Manipur is capable of doing anything against the millitants, but would New Delhi listen? That is also a good question.

Ugly Reponse.....

[ Mon, 24 Mar 2008 00:57:23 -0400 ]

Many more have condemned about the "senseless killing" of those innocent labours. At the strongest; I condemn it and hope not to repeat such tragic events. But, I feel proud to be a Manipuri, which is still surviving under many unbearable threats. I sensitize that the irrational killing is the emotional expression to the decades old "brutal State authoritarianism and Indian socio-cultural hypocracy" towards North East. One is difficult to say, a Palestinian or an Iraqi is mindless, because, that is; the Ugly response to the brutal hegemonism. I am hoping a peace with dignity in Manipur for all people, whatever their origins.

I hate to be son of Manipur

[ Sat, 22 Mar 2008 17:02:41 -0400 ]

I would like to request to all the killer that 'kill all' so that no one should cry. To you all manipuri -indians. You really are hopeless and I dont know what to say. Everyday killing of people is nothing to you? Many jobless youth falling into prey of drugs and also lured by power of guns is nothing to you? Politicians and bureaucrats are never sincere in history as well as present and corruption level is 100% Everywhere and nobody understand the need and priority of anybody or public is nothing to you. Only money speaks, no respect at all for anybody is nothing to you. Now you are crying & saying stop killing ... stop crying, it is not the time to cry. I am manipuri or what you call meetei, but now I hate to be being son of soil of Manipur. I stayed in manipur I faced problem of UGs and Army and Police. Now I stay in delhi, it is much better even I faced some of racial discrimination. Both army, police & UGS are terrorists in Manipur. No body think about Manipur. Stop pretending all of you. Kill all ; no one should be left out. .

We are in India not only in Manipur

[ Sat, 22 Mar 2008 03:59:47 -0400 ]

First of all, on behalf of All non-resident manipuri muslim (ANRMMAI) association of India I strongly condem the brutal killing of Hindi speaking people in Manipur. The people who are responsible for this cowardly act doesn't understand that atleast 8-10% of the manipur population are Non-resident Manipur who sends croes of ruppees to the home town to develop. What you get in Manipur especialy for the Muslim, 'Zero". So,why these people are disturbing us to earn money peacefully and let the migrants in the Manipur leave/earn peacefully. Any person can live/settle anywhere in India. We should not forget that Manipur is 100% in India and we are a democratic country. If they want to disturb the democracy then tell them to go to hell and kill themselves. We request you to publish some material (Desh bhakt articles) to motivate the people of Manipur that, we are In India not only in Manipur.

No one can stand alone

[ Sat, 22 Mar 2008 03:59:47 -0400 ]

Wow what a idea UNLF was publishing in relating to the killing of those innocent who are just earning a silly wages to fill their stomach on daily basis. All these ideas are so selfish, and act of illiterate and no thought. Are you ( outfit ) ready to provide the education system prevaling in the other state and can employed all the people working in the other state? Come on just have a think before your thought let down into the paper. Must be probably they love the Manipur state but not the people of the state who were outside. Since there Bro and Sis would be confined to the state they must be thinking that if we all ( outsider dies ) is not their lose. People think we still have time to save and if you really think that no Non Manipuris should be in Manipur then call all your people who are staying outside provide them the need say education, job or whatever, them you start killing them. No one can stand alone one need to be dependent of other.

Condemn these savage and barbaric killings

[ Fri, 21 Mar 2008 02:52:40 -0400 ]

I strongly condemn such inhuman barbaric activities. Whats wrong with those air heads and pea brains??? Showing manhood by killing helpless people is a 'lower than barbaric' activity. When the whole world is trying to be extremely progressive, our state is on its way to be highly (I should say hyper) regressive, kuddos to barbaric Adams! Or is it that some self-interest group is on its way to initiate communial riots for personal gains?? But victims will be 'us'. Whoever is going to benefit from such activities (the marionette or the manipulator), I would like to say that benefits gained via sucking the blood of innocent people won't stay for long. Its going to effect everyone of us in one way or the other. Manipur is already poor and in a deporable state, I wonder whats more is left to be sucked out of it?? And most importantly, gossip mongers are requested not to add further tension by spreading vague rumours.

An act of coward

[ Fri, 21 Mar 2008 02:15:45 -0400 ]

Motto of Nationalism movement and an act of coward nature is really shameful. We feel proud and happy to identify our self as Manipuri. Because, we are having the historical records from 33 AD onwards, having own scripts, dominating in the field of sports and culture. We are very talented and very intelligent. If you (people/group who killed the non Manipuris) think that by killing those innocent poor laborers will help in achieving your motto then it is the thought of ill man. First kill yourself because what you are thinking and your act is really frustrating the people. If you really want to drive the non manipuris, there are other options such as healthy competition. Do what they are doing in cheap rate. Those who does not have sweat does not know the value of it. You want Indian money (currency) but you donot like people from mainland India. Is it contradictory. So stop demanding money, stop fighting in the Indian constitutional law (bail payment, etc. etc.). You have no right to do such act because you are not good human being.

Hypocritical Act

[ Fri, 21 Mar 2008 05:49:27 -0400 ]

On the festive season and onset of Holi (Yaosang) it is quite disheartening to hear about such a bloodshed disturbing act. There are so much of insanity prevailing around and it's high time everyone acts in a mature way rather than following the divide and rule policy. At the end of the day we all are human beings and let's all be a good humanitarian and bring peace and harmony to our Motherland- Manipur.

Happy holi to one and all.

The Price of human life in Manipur is not more than that of a May fly

[ Fri, 21 Mar 2008 05:50:43 -0400 ]

It is unfortunate to hear again that the killings of innocent peopel have started again in our So called "Sana Laibak Manipur". It seeems that the Price of human life in Manipur is not more than that of a May fly which lives for only for a day and lives life to the fullest. I call my self a Manipuri and still feel ashamed of the situation prevailing in my place of birth. I ask to my self this question vey ofen "Why is there so many killings in my "Sana Laibak Manipur" Can any one give me the answer?????.

At this juncture I feel that it is high time to stop all this and take up the right steps necessary to improve the situation. The cost of human life is worth nothing it seems. All the killings should stop very soon or else the situation will worsen in the days to come.We all need to remember that first we are all human beings and after that the question of identity, ethnicity, community, religion etc.....comes second. So please please remember .

I would further like to tell every one that nothing in this worl is permanent. And there are times when the hunter becomes the hunted. So let us try to coexist in "PEACE AND TRANUALITY" and let us be proud of what we are and where we from .

PLEASE STOP THE KILLING PLEASE STOP THE KILLING PLEASE STOP THE KILLING PLEASE STOP THE KILLING PLEASE STOP THE KILLING PLEASE STOP THE KILLING PLEASE STOP THE KILLING PLEASE STOP THE KILLING PLEASE STOP THE KILLING PLEASE STOP THE KILLING

Horrifying to read the news of killing migrant workers mercilessly>

[ Fri, 21 Mar 2008 01:11:16 -0400 ]

It is horrifying to read the news of killing the 15 migrant workers mercilessly, the reason being "they are working as manual labour in Manipur earning a livelihood". Well, thinking from the killer point of view that the migrant workers are taking away the native people jobs sound good and true. But the real fact is something else, it shows the laziness, stupidity and high post dreamer Manipuri people and in specific the a particular community trying a means to make other Manipuris life hell. Just be true, I am a Manipuri, when I sweep the road side, cut the grass of the nullah or try to unload the brick/soil whatever from trucks, my poor neighborhoods people smile and comment, that is not your work it is for the mutias ( the migrant worker). This is the fact. How many of you Manipuri are ready to work as mutias at the rate of wage and speed they work, how many of you Manipuri are ready to sit the whole day near a supermarket waiting for manual job, how many of you Manipuri are ready to sew shoes at all locations, how many of you Manipuri are ready to cut hair at all saloons. Instead of killing, I will give you 10 easy ways and suggestion to let the migrant worker leave Manipur. Listen to me for the better of you and Manipuri living outside Manipur, you better do it. The ways are;

  1. Stop sitting on other people gate discussing Manipur future, work. Go to people home and ask if they have work. They will surely appreciate you and give work if they have instead of giving to migrant worker. Be proud of asking work.
  2. Form a group you people and make a shed in marketplace from where the people can hire you for manual job like loading truck, etc. but for god sake don't form JAC. Form a workgroup.
  3. Go for 1 month training in shoe repairing with a street clobber and learn the trade and do it. For god sake do it anywhere.
  4. Go for 1 month training in hair cutting with a road side hire salon and learn the trade and do it. For god sake do it, You don't need a nice decorated room.
  5. Lot of rickshaws are available for water carrying, kanglapat is for you too Manipuri, migrants don't own it. So start distributing water.
  6. You are good traveler rite, ready to travel distance to meet you love. So why not use it to sell ice cream, toys, etc. two in one. Meet your love and do business. If you girlfriend don't like it, well she is not worth loving, she will leave you one day for sure.
  7. Use your mother feed strong body to lift some heavy stuff, like alu vora, etc in alugalli, the business people will love to give you work, instead of snatching or looting there hard earning money.
  8. Instead of giving money for job to minister, make a small investment and do business any business, lupa kun dukan can be start with few thousands.
  9. Compete with migrant worker in work and speed. Obviously you have advantages, as you have a free shelter and free food. You can take the advantages of few discount or extra honest services.
  10. Last but not the least "be ready to work as anything".

What those worker has done to you all?

[ Fri, 21 Mar 2008 01:58:50 -0400 ]

I want to ask why, for what, for whom? what those worker has done to you all? they are there to earn for their family. why our brothers are killing them? they don't think about those manipuris studying outside. when will they will open their eye? and what our manipur govt is doing and why we the people of manipur afraid of them (extremist). why are they not allowing people to live peacefully? we are getting everything from India govt., if we are seperated from them who will help us, is there any resource in our place or can they give any job to our youth? there are many questions which they need to ask themselves. we know that we are treated as step-brothers, instead of killing one another, we should do something extra ordinary so that people know us from our good deeds. our state is in 5th position among 7 northeast states. lastly i want to request everyone to raise our hand together against this mass killing and lets make our state progress in the path of peace and prosperity.

Wake up my dear friends its time for we youth to stop unwanted activities from our state. All the best.

Easter Message: Hope Amidst Violence

[ Fri, 21 Mar 2008 01:59:59 -0400 ]

Today is Good Friday. Jesus Christ died on the cross for sinners like you and me. Bad sadly, there is bloodshed everywhere. Serial bomb blasts in Pakistan took many precious lives recently. Then the uprising in Tibet started, killing many lives. The big question is, who has the right to take away another person's life?

The news of non-Manipuris residing in the state capital been brutally killed pains me like never before. Why not the people who think 'Gun Is Right' take on bigger social issues like drug mafia, HIV and other countless problems? And what is the Central Government, the state government and the people doing? Is just criticising enough? Much more needed be done. We are peace-loving people and we want peace.

Witnessing the unending violence prevailing in the state, I think mass revolution is the only way out. Stop falling victims to the whims and fancies of the 'People' who think violence can solve problem. You know, they can never survive without the support of the masses. After all, they can't hide in the thin air. So, the people who are involved in various forms of violence should realise that nothing in this world can compromise with the lose of life. Because if you think your life and lives of your near and dear ones are precious, so too others. No difference. Listen to your heart.

The world is closing in. We are social animal and we survive on interdependence. What if Manipur is cut off from other states? Where will the state get the basic necessities like food, clothing and other natural resources? Imaging... The point is, everybody needs somebody. So, let the message this Easter be 'Sharing'. Share you happiness and sorrows with the people around you. Together, we can beat the cold. Spring is at hand and you can see live everywhere. Trees have turned green, flowers have filled the air with its fragrance and the cuckoos are arriving. There is hope. Let's all enjoy the moment, and of course not without your brethren.

HAPPY EASTER

Deeply Condemn The Inhuman Happenings

[ Thu, 20 Mar 2008 22:08:01 -0400 ]

Many of the residents mostly outside maipur has condemned the killings that has taken place recently in manipur. Who has done it or why they did that is not clear still, but whatever has happened, is not good for the residents of manipur as well as for all the students staying outside manipur, i have heard many of my friends asking how many are killed? what will happen here to us? well i said to them, the people they killed are all migrant workers and the people near us are all students, they won't act to such barbarism as done by our whatsoever called outfits. Even though giving hopes to others asking me, I myself have fear going out, leave all these.

How about all the students who are going to get vacations and hoping to see their homeland after they have left a year ago, not all can afford flying directly by air and have to take the train. These are some simple problems, many many much more complex will come ... what if the families of those killed retaliate? Those who has done should have thought about what is going to come... in my opinion its not right, I must say barbaric as others have stated.

It hurts...

[ Thu, 20 Mar 2008 19:06:50 +0530 ]

In the last few days Manipur has been again in the news for all the wrong reasons. And how much these things have hurt us, it is too obvious... we are fed up of violence.

Although our society does not have any expression of a cultured modern life or whatsoever, we don't seem to mind either. We are in lost in a web of conflicts, poor governance, ethnic confrontations, multiple tragedies and a complex social fabric. It could be ascertained to the fact that it is the backwardness of the region hampering all the comforts of a modern life. Here it is worth mentioning that we are not yearning for fast cars, jet planes, big trucks and other trendy gizmos, rather we could be well-contented in simple life but we don't want violence and living in inferno.

People are apical about the future. When you are locked inside a compartment, obviously you will see nothing and the sole thing tou can do is to crawl and scratch. Our bleakly maintained society is always on the verge of negative outbursts every now and then. Dear compatriots, we are not beasts and want to live our life with dignity.

At the end of the day nothing seems worth consideration except to tolerate the existing scenario. Basically there is not solution to answer these social riddles. Again it should be noted that the development of a region depend upon the mindset of the people. To be or not to be, that is not the question but the apparent solution is the embodiment of justice, equality and fraternity which are nondescript in our society.

"No words to condemn the brutal act of the gun-fanatics"

Really condemn the act as very indecent act and wild natured. The incident couldnt have any backcloths and issues. The act is over their mentality and morality. It Really ashamed every manipuri at everywhere. Really have no words to say! We, people need to have and move for a VERY BIG AND SERIOUS concern and pressure over the gun-enjoyers and whatever they used to mask out to the society and smashed them out all. Whatever they may be, dont we fear to entrust our society to those inhumans and gun-maniacs? And, how they are going to serve the region with those minds and acts? Dont we fear to live our life with them? Really panic to live with them!

MSAD condemn

[ Wed, 19 Mar 2008 18:37:32 +0530 ]

MSAD expresses its deep concern for the serial killing of unarmed wage labourers in Manipur on 17th and 18th March, 2008. Whoever be the perpetrator of the killing and whatever be the cause of the killing, MSAD contextualize it in the ongoing India-Manipur conflict situation, and calls for public attention on the graveness of the human rights violations institutionalized by state and non-state forces. Several civilians have become soft targets of the conflict situation; many have lost lives, disappeared and are maimed & handicapped. MSAD is of the opinion that communal colouring of the killings may create misunderstanding and arouse communal tension. The result will be further victimization of the vulnerable common people. MSAD, therefore, calls upon the co-existing communities in Manipur and the concerned communities that the victims belong to, to understand the situation and take initiative in establishing inter-community cordial relationship. MSAD charges the Government of India for relying on military tactics and intensifying the conflict situation rather than taking bold political initiative to address the deep rooted political issue.

Let's live and let others live

[ Thu, 20 Mar 2008 05:17:26 -0400 ]

It's a shame to learn that non-Manipuris residing at Imphal are being brutally killed. Everybody should condemn this kind of barbaric act. The state Government and the masses should stop this bloodshed before it turns communal. If the situation deteriorates, Manipuris staying in various parts of the country will be in danger, and students are no exception. You know, nothing substitutes life.

I think only mass revolution can bring about positive change in the state. And the day doesn't seem to be far off. People should fight together and do away with the anti-social elements, only then the state and the people will prosper. Let's live and let others live.

This is a barbaric and an inhuman act

[ Thu, 20 Mar 2008 05:14:05 -0400 ]

This is a barbaric and an inhuman act. Such mannerism was never a part of Manipuri's culture. So I strongly condemn and also feel deeply disturbed. Everybody can feel that in this tiny land, civil laws have completely collapsed. Central Government should deal with an appropriate manner as the way it handled the militancy in Punjab. For the common man this is the right juncture to find a fearless leader who can think to develop the state in the right direction with proper planning.

If this is the case then, do all the Manipuris working in various countries and other part of the states in the Union of India supposed to come back to their native place?

Lastly, can we live alone and sustain alone. We are also still facing ethnic turmoil within the state and hatred for each other. Ethnic hatred and Ethnic war is in rampart and now we have extended to other communities too. Let us stop this barbaric act otherwise we will find that everything is lost by the time we realized it and then by then it will be too late to rectify things.

This is the era of globalization. All the native communities should forget the bad part of the past and take only the good part and memories of the past. Start planning for a good future. Remember we are all living under the dangerous nexus force; it may be government or underground. Ultimately the common man is the suffered lot. So-called Law Enforcing Agency are mere bodyguards of the lawless corrupt designated people in the same nexus.

Therefore, we have nobody, nowhere to ask for help and protection. However, let us not stop to search for peace and development.

I deeply condem the intentional killings

[ Thu, 20 Mar 2008 03:29:27 -0400 ]

I deeply condem the intentional killing of a considerable number of innocent labourers non manipuris as on 17th and 18th March, 2008. Under this circumstances of atrocity or cruelty, there is only one thought in my mind that what will be the outcome of it. Eventually, the result will be again the killing of innocent people out here, those who are staying outside the Manipur. This bloody insanity is a barbarism, not something for us to be part of. This is a slaughter that I would be ashamed of, and something that I can sympathize with and share the pain. I don't know exactly how many are killed and which number is the truth, or whether anyone knows the true number accurately. Yet, this is not that important for me, even though it has significance in politics and diplomacy. What is more important for me is the fact that many innocent people are killed so barbarically. When I see the shadow of this bloody event on the future world, I see a greater injustice done to all the Manipuris.

Killing of hindi speaking people : Biggest mistake

[ Thu, 20 Mar 2008 03:19:36 -0400 ]

It is the most stupid and the most foolish thing that a man can ever do to other fellow being. the act of the killers of hindi speaking people is just non sense. they have no head.....i repeat they have no head. they have not seen the world. they think that their own region is the whole world. comeout of that place and see how the world has changed. people are thinking of helping and developing the region. but this killer probably wants to go back to stone age.

if they feel they are heros by killing innocent people they are the biggest ZERO. We are here for once don't dream of comming again to this earth. why don't you come to the path of peace?

You are killing labourers but if they react, they will kill your children who are the pillars of your state studying elsewhere.

Leave your stupidity and come out of that foolish ideology.

You are killing the mere labourere but they will kill your best.........don't be foolish. stop today you killers...tomorrow will be too late.

Remember we are the part of global village

[ Thu, 20 Mar 2008 00:37:34 -0400 ]

It very disturbing news that Non Manipuries /Locals are been killed in Manipur. Does the Meities know that so many meiteis are outside Manipur like in Kalkota, Delhi, Chandigard etc. what if they are been kill in revenge? Where is the meirapabis? can't they protesh such inhumane act? or is the meirapaibis a part of this act? There is larger and bigger world outside Manipur. Just one single bomb, the valley of manipur can be brought down to ash. Remember we are the part of global village.

why blooshed of innocents again?

[ Wed, 19 Mar 2008 13:38:32 -0400 ]

whoever did the barbaric act did not realized that we also have our brothers and sisters in large numbers living outside manipur doing their further studies, as well as holding jobs, and this is not for the first time, why again and again, they should have at least a common sense, for god sake killing and more bloodshed must be stopped.other states are heading toward development with new thought we are going backward with all sorts of killing, bandh, strike every now and then.all the miscreant who are involved in this barbaric act must be punished by the people, we dont want any bloodshed, we want peaceful and progressive state, we want all the development, we dont want destruction, god bless manipur.

May this yaoshang festival brings peace and prosperity in our state.

I am really shocked

[ Wed, 19 Mar 2008 01:46:32 -0400 ]

Dear,

I am really shocked to get the news about the killing of migrants workers by undergroung millitants. We are students residing outside manipur. So ,in this position how can we survive our life and there is no way to come back home immediately. We are in such a tragic life and it seems like it might happen a communalism between Manipuri and Non-Manipuri people.

Thanks

A way to show themselves as barbaric and psychopath

[ Wed, 19 Mar 2008 05:06:28 -0400 ]

The killing of 14 non-locals is just a way to show themself as barbaric and a psychopath. What they are going to get from killing those innocent labourers from other states. If they wanted the non-locals leave the state then they could have given the nonlocals a better way. Why they have not used thier bloody head to think for a moment and see the consequences. Can thy give the security to all the manipuris and north -east people residing outside manipur and who are leaving thier own hometown. Its a high time every citizen strongly opposed against such armed culprits. They have no brain to think and they are no more humane. They only have guns in their hand and thats the only power they are enjoying in manipur. It is a high time to protect ourself from such carnivoruos animal to save our live also. they are more dengerous than the any kind of animal. We are about to reach to a situation of going for a marketing to buy guns for every home so that we are secured from such people. It has now become a duty of every common citizen to protect ourselfself as we can't relay on donky govt and its security. Where are those human rights activist and social activist in manipur? Are they going to say killing on non locals is not included in their definition of human rights? Are they blind or deaf or are they all gone for honeymoon?

It shows the narrowmindedness of the killers

[ Wed, 19 Mar 2008 09:42:18 -0400 ]

The recent Killing of non-manipuris in Manipur should be condemned in the strongest terms. It shows the narrowmindedness of the killlers. And it is really shocking to see the civilians coming from outside being targetted in this manner. And I believe the right minded people should come up strongly against these selfish war mongers to prevent future occurrence. sadly the CM not doing enough for the casualties. I just imagine what would be the plight of the Manipuris if we land up in this situation outside our state. If this trend goes on our state would go to dogs given the horrible situation the state is already in in the light of political, social and economic condition. If we really love our land we should be more bothered about bringing reformation than targetting these people who have come for humanity services where many of us are unwilling to do. Our brothers outside the world also have families like we do. Please put yourself in their shoes.

the killings of migrants in manipur

[ Wed, 19 Mar 2008 23:18:32 -0400 ]

The killings of migrants in Manipur is an act that is unbecoming of civilised society and untenable with present needs for development. It is high time that Student bodies and cthers play a moral duty to protest such acts which are regrettable and highly uncalled for.
