Imphal, May 26 2009: The proscribed Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) has owned up to killing Prof Md Islamuddin saying that the party sentenced him capital punishment.

Secretary of Publicity and Research, KYKL, Lanngamba Mangang today charged in a press release that Prof Islamuddin was the root of many unforgivable errors committed in the recent election of MUSU resulting in discrediting the university and creating groupism amongst the students that hampered the academic atmosphere in the university.

The controversy erupted because of his plot, the press release charged adding that it is not necessary to elaborate his offences newly.

Anyone will easily come to know his offences by inquiring into the controversy of the recent election of MUSU, it stated.

The press release further alleged that it was the scheme of the professor to make the issue more complex and confounded by telling lies, which would have otherwise been easy to correct, and by doing so he thought that he would be acquitted, and able to befool the public, nobody would come to know the truth and moreover, would be able to achieve the desired objective.

The press release alleged that there is a group in the MU formed by some students and some teachers for their own personal gains.

The group may be appropriately described as a clique.

Their objective is to turn the university into their private fiefdom.

The clique enjoys complete freedom in committing big errors openly in appointment of teachers and others, deputing, promotion, admission of students, assigning project, doing contract work, supply, etc., the press release stated.

Today it has become impossible to get promotion, employment, admission and so on without approval of this clique, the press release contended and added that anything is correct and okay if it is done by this clique.

Lanngamba Mangang in his press release further stated that the controversy in the election of MUSU arose out of the fact that they were scared that a new leadership who will do justice was going to emerge and tried to prevent it.

The controversy was part of the conspiracy of the clique which has swallowed the university to save their ensconced position and status.

He asserted that the controversy which, in the outward appearance, looked like as though it was a result of ignorance of some young students but deeper inside, it was a part of the conspiracy of the clique.

Prof Islamuddin was an important figure in that clique and was the spearhead of the conspiracy, Lanngamba Mangang alleged.

He further stated that the party has repeatedly announced in past that no wrong will be tolerated in education, specially in MU.

However, there is no let up.

The big-wigs have been completely submerged in wrong doing and negative acts thus losing their thoughts and appeared to be not human, he stated.

Lanngamba asked, in the society where wrong doing has become a tradition and 'truth' has become the scarcest thing, if everyone does anything as he/she wishes, how shall we survive? Though the 'headless' politicians who treat politics as a business do a lot of wrong things, professors who are highly educated and should be the guiding force of the society ought not to do wrong things.

If the intellectuals who should lead us become thieves, who will lead us? If the intellectuals pretend to be ignorants and commit wrong acts, who will correct them, Lanngamba asked.

He appealed to all concerned not to join the clique and asserted that until the clique is totally eradicated, the KYKL will not stop correcting the MU.

Lanngamba cautioned that as long as there are wrong-doers in the MU, the party will correct them by giving them severe punishment without any warning.

Therefore, the teachers and the students who are in the clique will be given severe punishment one after another.

He appealed to the people to note that it is because of the wrong doings by the Gurus who are revered as gods that acts which ought not to be done are being done in the university which is considered as sacred as a temple.

He also appealed to the public not to look at the outside appearance, instead be far sighted inside.
