Reaping fruit of hardwork: Roshibina

Imphal, December 15 2023: Elated over getting nomination for this year's Arjuna award, Asiad 2023 silver medallist Roshibina Devi has said that she is beginning to reap fruit of her hardwork.

Roshibina along hockey player from Manipur Pukhrambam Sushila Chanu have been nominated for the Arjuna award-2023 and their nominations for the prestigious award has once again proven abundance of sporting talents in the state.

Roshibina is the daughter of Naorem Damyu and Romila Devi of Kwasiphai Mayai Leikai, Bishnupur district and she will be 23 on December 30, 2023 .

Roshibina told The People's Chronicle that getting nomination for the prestigious Arjuna award will definitely encourage and inspire her to work harder and bring laurels for the state and the country.

However, getting recognition with the prestigious sports award of the country is not her ultimate goal though it testifies reaping the fruit for hard-work, she said, adding that her dream is to win an Olympic medal.

Apart from bagging silver medal at the 19th Asian Games held in early part of this year (2023) at Hangzhou in China, Roshibina also won silver medal at the 16th World Wushu championship held at Texas, USA in November, 2023 .
