ESM rally, meeting held In Senapati, Noney

After a similar event in Bishnupur district on February 26, the Indian Army organised an Ex-Servicemen (ESM) Rally in Senapati district on Wednesday which drew participation of 500 retired soldiers, nine Veer Naris, 48 widows and 21 dependents from Ukhrul, Kangpokpi, Tamenglong and Kamjong districts.
The rally was aimed at facilitating the ESM community to register their grievances related to pension documentations and other anomalies.
Dedicated assistance booths to provide support and guidance on crucial matters including healthcare, pension anomalies and ECHS Polyclinic services were established as a part of the rally which also included a comprehensive range of facilities to address the unique needs and concerns of ESM attending the event.
Furthermore, medical specialists and dental specialists from the Army and District Civil Hospital organised a medical camp to provide medical assistance and provision of medicines to the rally attendees.
During interaction with the veterans and Veer Naris GOC, Red Shield Division, conveyed gratitude to the veterans and their families for their sacrifices and services to the nation.
He also appreciated the yeomen service by the ESM community to Indian Army amid the security situation in Manipur and assured all participants of expeditious redressal of their issues.
On the other-hand, Noney Battalion Assam Rifles organised a meeting to address problems faced by ex-servicemen residing in remote villages and dissemination of information regarding various welfare schemes and policies initiated by higher headquarters and government of India.
The participants were also apprised about the important role played by them towards nation building through their valuable experience.
During the interaction, they were asked about their problems and grievances, if any, and assured of every possible assistance by the Battalion.
