Chiru golden jubilee stone unveiled

Kangpokpi, February 27 2024: Outer Manipur parliamentary constitution MP Dr Lorho S Pfoze unveiled the commemorative stone of the Golden Jubilee celebration of Chiru Union North East India at Bungte Chiru village under Saitu assembly constituency in Kangpokpi district.

The event was attended by outer Dr Lorho as chief guest, Tamenglong MLA Janghemlung Panmei as president and Ukhrul MLA Ram Muivah as guest of honour.

The event commenced with Chiru youth extracting the ceremonial fire followed by the chief guest's speech on folktales and history of Chiru community and adding that the Chiru people should play their part in resolving the ongoing conflict in the state.

During the programme, many cultural programmes including Chiru traditional songs and dances were showcased.
