Two declared absconders in drug case

Imphal, February 27 2024: Special Judge Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, Fast Tract Court has declared two accused in connection with a drug case as absconder.

The two accused are Yamlun Kuki (then aged 58 years) son of late Otsum of B Khayang village under Saikul police station in Kangpokpi district and Onlum Kuki (then aged 28 years) son of Seikho of Sang village, under Saikul police station in Kangpokpi district.

In different proclamation orders, special judge NDPS (FTC) in-charge Monalisa Maibam informed that complaint has been lodged before her that Onlum Kuki and Yamlun Kuki committed (suspected to have committed) the offence punishable under Section 20 (c), 60(3), 29(1) of NDPS Act, 1985.However, warrant of arrest was returned as the two could not be found.

As such, they have absconded (or is concealing themselves) to avoid the service of the said warrant.

She directed that both Onlum and Yamlum are required to appear at Judicial Magistrate First Class, Kangpokpi at 11 am to answer the said complaint on April 22 .
