Burial of 87 bodies in CCpur on Dec 20

CCpur, December 15 2023: Joint Philanthropic Organisation (JPO) convener Laldawnlian Varte has informed that the burial of 87 bodies currently lying at Churachandpur district hospital morgue will be done on December 20 .

Laldawnlian Varte informed this correspondent that the mass burial will be carried out as per wishes of next to kin of the deceased and tentative programme for the burial ceremony will be circulated for public information very soon.

Though he refused to disclose the burial site, Laldawnlian Varte said that road improvement work and clearing of land for the purpose of mass burial would be completed by December 19 .

With 46 bodies lying already at Churachandpur district hospital and 41 corpses brought from Imphal on Thursday, the total number of bodies to be buried on December 20 has reached 87, Laldawnlian Varte added.
