JSB appeals for normal functioning of DA

Imphal, February 28 2024: While pointing out that Churachandpur district administration (DA) remains paralysed in the aftermath of the February 15 incident, Joint Students' Body (JSB) appealed to authorities concerned and officials to ensure that the district administration, as far as possible, continues to function as normal.

In a release, JSB said that the paralysed district administration has affected the student community and the education sector the most.

Eleven days have lapsed since the unfortunate events and the number of people and services affected by the paralysed district administration continues to mount, it rued.

Proper functioning of the district administration is of utmost importance in view of certain pertinent matters such as the on-going board examinations, the requirement for evaluation of answer papers in Churachandpur and the continued efforts for establishment of an online examination centre for competitive exams in Churachandpur.

Furthermore, the recent news that IDP students are suffering for want of food and relief materials is distressing to say the least, the student body continued and appealed to all officials in the district administration to put in effort to recommence normal administration and ensure that all public services/goods intended for the general public and in particular, the IDPs are delivered.

At the same time, JSB urged all to maintain an environment of peace conducive to the proper functioning of the district administration.
