Not involved in election: Pambei-led UNLF

Imphal, April 22 2024:
Observing that the general election to the 18th Lok Sabha 2024 has threatened the unity of the people with its long history of violence and enmity among the community members, the Pambei-led United National Liberation Front (UNLF) has called for a united stand against such divisive forces.
It also informed that the Front has no involvement in the election.
In a statement issued by its media coordinator Charairongba Thokchom, the outfit urged the people of Manipur to rethink the present state of the society.
It also reminded the people about the unrest situation in Manipur following the terror activities initiated by Kula armed militants against Meetei since May 3 last year.
The Pambei-led UNLF also maintained that the people should be wary about armed militants laying seige on the national highways leading to Imphal, and the dreadful condition of displaced people in relief camps.
At the same time,; the Kuki militants could launch fresh attacks at any point of time, it cautioned.
Urging all the indigenous people to stay united and move towards defeating the Kuki militants, the armed outfit appealed to the people to stop immediately war of words on social media, and all sorts of violence in relation with the election.
It further informed that UNLF will always take a stern stand against anybody who threatens the unity and identity of Manipuri community.
