AR organises 'Know Your Army' mela

Imphal, August 11 2015 : A two-day long mela on the theme 'Know Your Army' was organised under the aegis of HQ, IGAR (South) at Ukhrul.

The programme was inaugurated by Brigadier Sandeep Mohla, Commander, 10 Sector Assam Rifles.

The prime focus of the initiative was to reach out to the masses, generate goodwill among the local populace and to familiarise the youth with a career in the Army.

Over 2000 people from interior villages and Ukhrul town witnessed the event with school children being enthralled by the display.

Assorted equipment and weapons were on display and information was provided on various entry schemes of Army with the help of books and charts.

Brigadier Sandeep Mohla interacted with visitors at the mela and assured them of extending all necessary assistance and guidance to aspiring candidates for joining the Indian Army.

He exhorted the youth to join the Army for a professionally satisfying life.
