Dimapur, August 25 2013:
NSCN-IM has allegedly kidnapped one cadre of NSCN-Khole/Kitovi group on August 22 .
On Sunday, the NSCN-Khole/Kitovi outfit demanded that its abducted cadre identified as one Veripa Chakhesang be released at the earliest.
The NSCN-Khole/Kitovi said it is shocked to learn about the abduction of one of its functionary by NSCN-IM on August 22 'for reason best known to the abductors especially at this crucial juncture when the Naga reconciliation process is moving ahead with strong determination under the banner of Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR)' .
Veripa Chakhesang, a member of GPRN/NSCN from Chakhesang Region was recently kidnapped by NSCN-IM boys on August 22 from Toulazou village around 3 pm.
Before he was forcefully taken away, it is learned that the NSCN-IM boys physically tortured him on the spot right after his arrest, as per eyewitness account," NSCN-Khole/Kitovi alleged.
"The GPRN/NSCN therefore strongly condemns such cowardly acts of kidnapping despite the request and wish of the Naga people longing for peace and reconciliation.
The GPRN/NSCN also brings to the notice of the higher-ups authorities of the NSCN (IM) to release its functionary at the earliest who is still held captive in their hands," the outfit asked.
