Boundaries don't separate people's bond of love: Dr Ashwani

Imphal, July 30 2013: Even though Manipur and Nagaland are politically divided as two states, the bond of love that exists between the people of these two neighbouring States is not separated by any boundary, the new Governor of Manipur Dr Ashwani Kumar told Hueiyen Lanpao in an exclusive interview at Raj Bhavan here today.

He further said that there is still oneness among the people and they face the same issues and problems despite being in different states, which have been formed only for administrative purposes.

People must consider themselves as responsible citizens of this largest democratic nation, Dr Ashwani exhorted.

The new Governor hailed Manipur as a State rich in art and culture with unique traditions and cultural heritage.

The State is also bestowed with serene natural environment and climatic condition which add more charm to the beauty of this land, he noted.

Dr Ashwani said, "I am indeed fortunate and elated to be the Governor of this beautiful State for a short duration" .

He maintained that the State Government should work towards improvement of socioeconomic condition, education system and law and order situation in Manipur.

The State must also opt for industrialization in order to provide mass employment to the people.

The Government should not move back while providing security to the people, the Governor added.
