Shija Vision Centre inaugurated at Senapati district

Shija Vision Centre was inaugurated and opened at Senapati by Somorjit Salam, DC, Senapati as the chief guest, Solomon Arow, president, Naga People's Organisation as the guest of honour and Dr Khundongbam, chairman cum managing director, Shija Hospitals as the president respectively.
The centre at Senapati was opened by the Shija Foundation together with Mission for Vision.
Addressing the event, Dr Shailendra Yengkhom, Consultant, Ophthalmologist, Shija Eye Care Foundation said that the vision centre was set up with the gracious support of WEN Giving Foundation through Mission for Vision to extend eye care service with the objective of increasing and improving comprehensive eye care for the unreached population of Senapati district.

The centre will provide complete eye examination to diagnose refraction, cataract, glaucoma and other eye conditions, testing for diabetes, dispensing of eyeglasses and care for simple ocular emergency services.
The centre is equipped with ophthalmic and other equipment to enable basic eye exams, he said.
Solomon Arow, president, NPO expressed gratitude and appreciated the initiative taken up by the Shija Eye Care Foundation and assured to extend full support for maintaining peaceful atmosphere in their future endeavours.
The NPO president also asked the vision centre to provide the best health service to the people of the district.
Speaking as chief guest, Somorjit Salam, DC Senapati expressed happiness and said that the centre will ease and address the grievances of many in district who could not afford to go other places for necessary treatment.
Dr Palin Khundongbam, chairman cum managing director, Shija Hospitals said that the Shija Eye Care Foundation is excited about the partnership with Mission for Vision in launching 2 Vision Centres at Senapati and Churachandpur districts.
He said that the centres were opened to give sight to those who suffer from cataract which is the most common cause of blindness.
Such centres will also be opened in other districts also, he added and appealed public to spread message about the services available at the centre.
