Rajnath Singh to visit Manipur on Friday Law and order to be assessed

Imphal, February 11 2015:
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will arrive at he State capital on February 13 to the State to review the security situation and law and order condition of the State.
Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju would accompany him during his maiden visit to the State as a Union Home Minister, said an official source.
In this regard, the State Government has started taking up necessary security measures.
After his arrival in the afternoon of February 13, the Union Home Minister is scheduled to fly by a special helicopter of Indian Air Force to Moreh and inspect immigration office and ICP.
He would also discuss the security situation of the border town by holding meetings with the high ranking officers of Assam Rifles.

Later, he is scheduled to interact with public leaders at 9 Assam Rifles garrison, the source added.
In Imphal, he would hold meetings with Chief O Ibobi Minister, Chief Secretary PC Lawmkunga, DGP Shahid Ahmad and high ranking officers of other security agencies at the Chief Minister's secretariat, the source said.
After meeting with public and political leaders at Raj Bhavan, the Union Minister will attend a dinner hosted by Chief Minister Okram Ibobi at Hotel Imphal and witness cultural programmes.
He will leave Imphal for Tripura the next day, the source added.
Meanwhile, security has been beefed up along Tiddim road in connection with the Union Home Minister's visit.
