Chandam Inunganhi Memorial Football : Mokamlung FC to meet P YC in final

Mokamlung FC will lock horns with P YC, Phaitol on August 24 in the summit clash of the 15th Chandam Inunganbi Memorial Mini Boys (U-13) Football Tournament 2018 being organised by All Jiribam Sports Association at Jiribam Government Higher Secondary School playground.
Mokamlung FC saw off SBNYC, Jirighat by 3-1 via penalties in the first semi-final match today while PYC thrashed Lalpani SYC 10-1 in another semifinal clash staged today.
The first semi-final match of the tournament staged today saw, Mokamlung come from behind to hold SBNYC to a 1-1 draw during regulation time and the winners were decided via a penalty shootout in which Mokamlung emerged victorious with 3-1 margin.
SBNYC looked positive as they took a 1-0 lead through a goal scored by Bike Goula in the 23 rd minute after a cautious start from both ends.
They continued to lead for a major portion of the second half until Mokamlung FC's attempts bore fruit in the 60th minute when David sent the ball home from inside the rival�s box after a nice cross from the flank.
The game remained unsettle till the final whistle and extra time was added on to find the winners.
Both teams squandered their chances during the extra time to finish the game 1-1 extending the game further to the penalty shoot-out.
The second semi-final match of the day was rather more entertaining as PYC Phaitol which held Lalpani SYC (LSYC) 1-1 till first half, made a sudden surge in the second half to pump in 9 goals and secured an emphatic 10-1 victory to seal the final berth.
Both PYC and LSYC started the game carefully with full of surprising runs and timely interceptions until Joynal of LSYC netted the opener in the 16th minute.
In-form PYC did not find it hard to draw level the very next minute through William who also managed to score two more goal in the second half.
Despite repeated attempts from both sides to find the difference, the game ended in a 1-1 draw till the end of first half.
The second half however went entirely to PYC as Lalroulhu shone to pump in 5 goals alone (38', 46', 60', 64' and 69') while William banged in two goals (49', 61') before Lenmongsang struck a single in the 63rd minute to help PYC demolish LSYC by 10-1 margin.
