30th State Thang-Ta Championship : IKTCA shine in sub-jr boys phunaba ama events

Imphal, August 11 2019:
The second day of the 30th State Level Thang-Ta Championship being held at Bakshi Indoor Stadium saw IKTCA, Moidampok pocket 3 gold medals in the sub-junior boys phunaba ama events and Luwang Thang-Ta Academy, Sajor Leikai managed 2 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medal.
Pahulasi also bagged 2 gold and 3 bronze medals in various weight categories of this age group.
H Priyobarta of IKTCA claimed a gold medal in the -21 kg event beating W Rohenba Meitei of Kanglasha, Wakha in the final today while Thoihen of Pahulasi was able to claim the bronze medal.
Sagar Sunar of IKTCA bagged the second gold medal in the -25 kg event while the third gold medal was pocketed by Th Gunabanta Singh who emerge on top in the -41 kg final.
Victor Raj Ngangom bagged the first medal for Pahulasi in the -29 kg event while H Kyamba and Nganba Singam settled for the silver and the bronze medals respectively.
The second gold medal for Pahulasi was added by Landerson Leimapokpam who beat Ksh Alex Meitei of MIYAM, Top in the -49 kg final while Ponting Tongbram of EKVTA, Nongmeibung was able to win the bronze medal.
S Malemnganba Meitei (-37 kg) and I Rajenkumar (+53 kg) also won bronze medals for Pahulasi.
Luwang Thang-Ta Academy, Sajor Leikai on the other hand won gold medals through M Max Singh (-33 kg) and N Kalinga (-37 kg) while T Rohit (-33kg) and Th Badankumar (-49 kg) bagged the silver medals.
Th Bhunish Singh (-41 kg) claimed the lone bronze medal for Luwang Thang-Ta Academy in the Sub-Junior Boys' Phunaba Ama event.
KTA's S Sadananda Singh (-45 kg); Nillakanta Ningthoujam of ANJIKA (-53 kg) and K Khuraingakpa of MIMCTA, Naoremthong (+53 kg) also earned gold medals in their respective weight category events.
Sub-Junior Boys' Phunaba Anishuba events
K Loveson of IKTCA, Moidampok won the -37 kg sub-junior boys phunaba anishuba gold while L Ashamani of Luwang Thang-Ta Academy, Sajor Leikai and Anesh Lourembam of NEEHA, Moirang claimed the silver and the bronze medals respectively.
IKTCA won another gold medal in the -41 kg event through Lanchenba who beat Th Bikash Singh of MNLTCA, Heigrujam and S Rabinash Singh of ANJIKA, Sangaiprou bagged the silver medal.
S Nongyai of TDTA Kakching Khunou; Robertson Thongam of MNLTCA and K Roshan of MIMCTA, Naoremthong respectively claimed the gold, silver and bronze medals in the -45 kg boys competition.
L Borish of TTM, Yumnam Huidrom; Ksh Lan Mangang of PAHULASI, Mayaikoibi and Ng Manikumar Singh of ANJIKA respectively managed the gold, silver and bronze medals in the -49 kg boys competition.
Thoithoiba Khumanthem of KTA, Maklang; A Ajit of Thoibi Thang-Ta Cultural Association and M Johnson of the same unit respectively claimed the gold, silver and bronze medals in the -53 kg boys competition.
Universal Thang-Ta Academy's L Thouna picked the +53 kg event gold with a win over Ronaldo Kiyam of Thoibi Thang-Ta Cultural Association in the final while Ph Dison Singh of IKTCA settled for the bronze medal.
Sub-Junior Girls' Phunaba Anishuba
IKTCA's sub-junior girls also earned 3 gold medals in the sub-junior girls phunaba anishuba events staged today.
H Yaiphaba grabbed the -21 kg gold beating KTTCA's Langambi Huidrom in the final while W Korea Chanu (-25 kg) won another gold without breaking any sweat.
Chandani Sunar grabbed the third for the unit in the -41 kg event when she downed L Deviya Devi of Luwang Thang-Ta Academy.
Jyoti Sunar Devi of KTA (-33 kg) and Ch Rohibina Devi of Pahulasi (-49 kg) were also able to win gold medals without any contest.
L Nibasini of Luwang Thang-Ta Academy won the gold medal in the -29 kg event while KRTTCA's Chandani Sunar won the -41 kg event gold after overcoming L Deviya Devi in the final.
K Thaballei Devi earned NEEHA, Moirang a gold medal beating K Thaja Chanu of Thoibi Thang-Ta, Moirang in the final.
S Malemnganbi Chanu on the other hand helped Thoibi Thang-Ta to seal a gold medal in the -53 kg event where as she topped her compatriot Th Thoi in the final.
S Rojika Chanu of TTM, Yumnam Khunou won the above 53 kg gold beating Nungolsana Takhellambam of KMTA, Pallel in the final.
Junior Boys' Phunaba Anishuba
Junior boys of TTM produced an impressive show in the phunaba anishuba events and earned 4 gold and 1 bronze medals out of 7 weight categories.
L Bishal Sharma (-48 kg), Y Deepak (-60 kg); Dijen Shagolshem (-65 kg) and Y Rojit (-70) were the athletes who bagged the gold medals while H Manganleiba (44 kg) added the lone bronze medal.
-53 kg and -52 kg titles went to Kh Abomcha Singh of KTA and M Thoisana Singh of Universal Thang-Ta Academy respectively while Nonglenkhomba Irom of Langol Lukhoi Thang-Ta was able to win the -81 kg title.
