Felicitation functions held across State

Imphal, June 11 2016 : Meritorious students who secured ranks and came out with flying colours in the recently concluded High School Leaving Certificate Examination and Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur and Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur respectively were felicitated at the premises of Hockey Union Lampak.

Altogether 11 students of class X including 23rd rank holder Reeturani Laiphangbam and four students of class XII including rank holder Khonish Nigthoujam were feted with gifts and presents by the dignitaries of the felicitation function.

Organized by Meira Paibi and Hockey Union of Lairikyengbam Leikai, Mayai Leirak, the function was attended by MLA of Heingang Assembly Constituency N Biren, Pradhan of Lairikyengbam Leikai Gram Panchayat S Somorjit, member of Meira Paibi RK Kanonsija, former Joint Director of Youth Affairs and Sports W Sushilkumar and president of Hockey Union Ng Munindro.

Felicitation of meritorious students at kontha khabam

Addressing the function, N Biren stated that education very important and even a well qualified sports person needs education to excel in his or her field.

He also said that steps to construct community hall of Lairikyengbam Leikai Mayai Leirak is taken up.

On the National Food Security Act which was recently launched in the State, Biren stated that beneficiary cards are yet to be distributed for some areas and the quota of rice for April is already received.

On the other hand United Clubs of Kontha Khabam (UCOKK) felicitated meritorious students of class X and XII of Kontha Khabam at Student's Union Club's Community Hall, Kontha Khabam Makha Leikai.

Special Secretary (Higher and Technical Education/SCERT/Adult Education) Kh Raghumani, Deputy Commissioner, Imphal East M Joy, Director Education (S) N Praveen, Prof Dr T Tomcha and Chairman of Imphal Valley School N Bhimochand attended as dignitaries of the function.

Kritidas Thokchom who secured 540 rank in the UPSC civil service examination this year was specially honoured on the occasion.

Altogether 31 students of class X both BOSEM and CBSE and 28 students of class XII were felicitated.

Longjam Priyashori of JNV Yaralpat and Thongam Rassutam of Maria Montessori Senior Secondary School who secured ranks in class X and XII examinations respectively were also feted.

At the same time, meritorious students of Friendship Educational Academy, Khurai Tinsid road, who passed the HSLC examination 2016 conducted by BOSEM were felicitated in a function held at Ima Nongmaileima Lampak, Khurai today.

The felicitation function was attended by RIMS Professor LK Sharatchandra Singh, Professor Th Sudhiranjan Singh, RIMS and Ksh Bikram Singh as presidium members.

A similar function was held at Adimjati Shiksha Ashram hall at Chingmeirong organised by the Indigenous Minority Organisation Manipur (IMOM) today.

Minority tribal students who passed the class X and XII examinations conducted by BOSEM, COHSEM and CBSE this year were felicitated with simple gifts at the function.

Chandel ADC Executive Member Chongom Chanthol Aimol, Kangla-tongbi GP Pradhan Shiva Kumar Basnet and CAU Associate Professor Gourabidhu Singh were the presidium members of the function.
