Following Deputy Chief Minister Gai-khangam's assurance to release the five arrested executives of KSA by Monday, the students' body has suspended its proposed 48-hour State-wide bandh which otherwise would come into effect from 5 pm today.
KSA human resources development secretary Angouton Khuman however said that they would immediately impose the bandh if the assurance is not translated into action by 6 pm of Monday.
Angouton said that he along with the leaders of some CSOs met the Deputy Chief Minister on the issue at his office chamber today afternoon.

During the meeting, Gai-khangam gave a firm assur- ance to free all the arrested executives of KSA by Monday.
Later, KSA along with other CSOs and Meira Paibis from Keishampat to Kwakei-thel held an emergency meet- ing and decided to suspend the stir.
The meeting also resolved to immediately clamp the bandh if the Deputy Chief Minister's assurance is not translated into action by 6 pm of Monday.
Before they the met the Deputy Chief Minister, KSA volunteers along with the leaders of different CSOs and womenfolk staged a sit-in-protest at Keishampat Leimajam Leikai community hall.
From there, they took out a rally towards Chief Minister's residence at around 2 pm.
Although police tried to stop them at different areas, they managed to reach up to near Raj Bhavan.
The rallyists were blocked by a large police team led by Imphal police station SDPO there.
Police picked up some selected representatives for a meeting with the Deputy Chief Minister.
All the rallyists went to Keishampat Lairembi community hall and waited for the return of their representatives there.
