TSE proprietor extends helping hand to widows, differently abled persons

Nishikant Singh Sapam, proprietor of The Sangai Express extended relief materials to widows and differently abled persons who are worst hit by the coronavirus inflicted lockdown today.
He extended 10 kg rice, 1 kg pulses, 1 kg onions, 250 grams Ngari (fermented fish), 1 packet iodised salt, 1 soap and 1 litre edible oil, each to a total of 75 individuals including widows and differently abled persons at Langmeidong, Laimanai and Hiyanglam areas under Kakching district.
The aids were extended with the assistance of Okeshwar Honeshwar Trust, Langmeidong at three locations-Langmeidong Panchayat Ghar, Langmeidong Maning Makha Leikai Community Hall and Hiyanglam Legal Aid Clinic premises.

At Langmeidong Panchayat Ghar, Nishikant Singh Sapam extended the relief materials to 35 widows including 19 from Langmeidong and 16 from Laimanai.
Langmeidong Gram Panchayat Up-Pradhan, Y Nabachandra was present.
At Langmeidong Maning Leikai Community Hall, Nishikant presented the relief materials to a total of 15 differently abled persons.
The differently abled persons, in return, gifted Nishikant with incense sticks and other items they made to show their gratitude.
At Hiyanglam Legal Aid Clinic, Nishikant presented the relief materials to a total of 25 widows of the area.
Speaking at the events, Nishikant said that the relief materials were presented with the aim to ease the suffering of the widows and differently abled persons who have been affected by the lockdown.
Although necessary to fight COVID-19, the lockdown is having a toll on the people who are daily wage earners.
It has been harsh on the widows and differently abled persons who are left with no means to earn income, he said adding the aids he provided was to compensate the shortage of daily essential items they were facing.
Sangai Express Manipuri edition Editor Khogendra Khomdram, who was also present said that the aids aim at providing relief to the people who are facing immense hardship due to the lockdown.
The aid was provided solely by The Sangai Express proprietor without any help from the Government or any other agency, he said.
The individuals who got the relief materials, Langmeidong Panchayat and the locals lauded Nishikant for his humanitarian service towards the people amid COVID-19 lockdown.
It may be noted that Nishikant has been providing daily essential items and other relief materials to many since the lockdown was imposed.
The Sangai Express, as part of its corporate social responsibility programme, under the aegis of Nishikant has been providing cash incentives to sportspersons apart from organising youth conclaves from time to time.
The Sangai Express has also been providing monthly remuneration to the tourist guides of Keibul Lamjao National Park in addition to sponsoring the cost of procuring feeds for the Sangais kept at Langol.
