Imphal, July 02 2011:
Along with reiterating the call and commitment on protection of territorial integrity of Manipur, the 11th foundation day of All Clubs, Organisation, Association, Meira Paibi Lup (ACOAM-Lup), Kangleipak was celebrated at Manipur Press Club here today.
Former president of ACOAM-Lup Kangleipak RK Chandrakumar and incumbent president Indrakumar Ningombam graced the foundation day function as chief guest and president respectively.
Speaking at the occasion as an invitee, president of United Committee Manipur (UCM) Yumnamcha Dilipkumar observed that the recent tripartite talks held at Senapati district was against the wish of the people of Manipur as it has a hidden agenda to disintegrate Manipur.
Dilipkumar called upon the people to stand firm against any force trying to break apart the territorial integrity of Manipur and create enmity among different groups of people living in mutual harmony since time immemorial.
While cautioning the people against rumour, Dilipkumar further said "when a Tangkhul leader spoke against the interest of territorial integrity of Manipur and unity of the people, we should not jump to the decision of hating him or his community.
Because, when we reach Ukhrul, the people there welcome us warmly as always like brothers" .
Federation of Regional Indigenous Society president Sapamcha Jadumani observed that the land of Manipur is not for those who are trying to break part Manipur but for those who are trying to protect its integrity.
Coming out strongly against the culture of gun senseless violence prevailing in the State today, Jadumani lamented that UG groups which are supposedly fighting for the cause of the land and its people have turned their guns on the same people from whom they have also collected the money for buying the weapons.
Mapi Council president Th Manihar called upon all the communities in Manipur to come out of their narrow and parochial outlook and work together for common development and welfare of all.
