Imphal, July 14 2018:
The parents of Archana Hijam, who secured the 4th position in this year HSLC Examination conducted by BOSEM, has claimed that they did not take part in any kind of meeting nor come to an agreement with the authority concerned regarding the question of awarding less marks to their daughter in the exam.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, Hijam Ranjit Kumar, father of Archana Hijam, clarified that the claims made by BOSEM Chairman in the media that BOSEM came to an agreement with them is false and condemned such baseless claims.
He informed that subject experts, guardians and the Head Examiner did discuss the mark of the student inside the Education Minister's chamber but as the family members of the student were not pleased with the terms discussed in the meeting, they walked out.
Ranjit condemned the authority's action of taking advantage of the situation and making claims that they came to an agreement.
On the other hand, he urged the authority, concerned to include a subject expert from Archana's school as well as a family member of the student in the committee proposed by the Board in connection with the issue.
He clarified that they do not care whether Archana's mark increases or decreases or whether she rise in rank or falls but they want to know the truth.
Ranjit further claimed that even though the Education Minister said that he would look into the matter and also form an enquiry committee regarding the issue, during a meeting on July 10, the Minister did not give any comforting assurance to the guardians.
