De-addiction camp at Saikul Rescue Home

Imphal, August 11, 2013:
CONE, KSO, Kuki Inpi Saikul, AMADA, Saikul Church Fellowship and Lucas, Broadcasting Ministry, RSDC are jointly organising a 15 day Saikul Area Drug and Alcohol de-addiction camp at Saikul Rescue Home.
Speaking as chief guest at the inaugural function of the said camp today, Thangkam Lupheng, President Kuki Inpi Saikul said that it is very necessary to work together in stopping the drug problem in the State.
Such a camp is the first of its kind in the area.
The participants should take part in the camp enthusiastically to make them healthy and fit, Lupheng urged.
During the occasion, RK Nalini Kanta, President CONE observed that one of the reasons for drug abuse is plantation of poppy.
DIC Centre of MACS for drug addicts is needed to be opened in the area also.
Ph Phoni Meetei, General Secretary AMADA observed that there are many changes brought in Saikul including increase in number of schools and better roads.
However, these only cannot be called progress because continuing of drug abuse cannot be called progress.
It is necessary to improve human value and health.
The occasion was also attended by Tonglet Chongloi, Chairman Saikul Hill Town.
