KIK reacts to FoH with 'be patient' line

Kangpokpi, April 27 2021: Reacting to the alleged statement of Federation of Haomee, the Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi advised the FoH to patiently wait as to who or which villages should vacate Koubru area and which camps should be relocated.

Thangminlen Kipgen, general secretary, Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi said that the Federation of Haomee should realise that valid documents over land ownership in respect of Koubru have been submitted to the State Government to which the Government is yet to respond and untill the official response is out, the so called Federation of Haomee should patiently wait.

He continued that Kuki Inpi believes in due process of law and although many vested interest groups may have talked a lot about Koubru, the State Government is yet to officially regard or disregard the claim made by the chief of Saitu so everyone should be patient over it.

He pointed out that as per provisions of the Constitution under Article 371C, hill areas are never surveyed and therefore any claims of the State Government to claim parts of Kangpokpi district as revenue land is unfortunate and almost comical.

The State Government is reminded to immediately transfer all land records of Kangpokpi district to its district headquarters and abide by its own orders passed way back in 2013, he pointed out.

He also appealed that a Constitutional body like the Hill Areas Committee should be honoured by the State Government and due concern of the committee must be sought in all and every matter involving the hills.

The Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi also asked the credibility and integrity of the State police whether they are the Salai Taret force of Manipur police force as they openly took pictures with the flag of Salai Taret in their uniform.

The Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi urged the authority concerned to take appropriate action against such police personnel at the earliest.

Meanwhile, the Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi district also reminded the Deputy Commissioner Kangpokpi to ensure proper Covid appropriate behaviours are followed in the district, especially those visiting the district be it for business or leisure.

It also said that proper sealing of containment zones have not been implemented in the district headquarters and therefore any sudden surge in positive cases in future would be entirely the fault of the district administration.
