Imphal, July 17 2012:
Kangpokpi Assembly Constituency MLA Nemcha Kipgen has outrightly rejected newspaper reports alleging involvement of her security personnel in the abduction of four individuals (ADC members) .
Speaking to mediapersons at her Lamphelpat quarters today, Nemcha termed as unfounded and condemnable the allegation that her security escort personnel were involved in the abduction of Kangpokpi ADC members namely SK Vaiphei, Khupshong Koren, Bhumi Prasad and Paojalet Taothang on July 13 evening and July 14 morning.
Reacting to the accusations by Haokholal Hangsing of Kangpokpi ADC, Nemcha dismissed the abduction allegations as baseless 'as the timing in the complaint (by Haokholal) cannot be logical as I was present in the assembly session on July 13' .
The security escort waited till the assembly was over outside the Assembly Complex, said the MLA to substantiate her stand that there is no possibility of her security escort involved in the abduction.
Apart from attending the recently held session and accompanied Ministers Ngamthang Haokip (IFC) and Govindas Konthoujam (Veterinary) during the duo's inspection tours of project sites under the assembly segment on July 14, the other day cited in the complaint report.
Nemcha ridiculing the accusation on involvement of her escort personnel also opined that the allegation was intent on maligning her image.
Further opining that she being a woman legislator has encouraged unscrupulous elements to launch the affront, Nemcha said, "The false allegation was done mainly to malign by image and status without any support of evidence and proof" .
To Haokholal Hangsing, she advised that rather than made illogical and false complaint it would be for the betterment of all if Haokholal comes forward and discuss matters related to promotion of peace and development.
