RIMS Dental College to start session soon

The Dental College of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal, will be inaugurated shortly as the Central Government has given the relevant permission for it.
The session is likely to be started from August 1, 2012.The RIMS authority is in constant touch with the related authorities.
The intake capacity is 50 students per year from the North Eastern states including Assam.
Being the host state, Manipur may get a substantial number of seats.
Besides, some seats would be reserved for the children of RIMS employees.
This is yet another important milestone for the 40 years old RIMS.
This Dental College will be of big help to the students of Manipur.
All these years, almost all the students have been undergoing Dental studies in private colleges by paying huge capitation fees, extortionate college and hostel fees.
There was inordinate delay in obtaining the permission since the relevant file was closed in 2010 in the Union Health Ministry.
However, the Director and his team who are members of the Dental College Development Committee personally contacted the Ministry and left no stone unturned to expedite the matter.
One senior specialist, Prof R.R.Singh is already in Imphal.
Besides, Prof N.Nabachandra, a former head of Dental department of RIMS has contributed his mites to the spade works of the Dental college, according to a statement issued by Media Advisor of RIMS.
