Governor gives assent to 4 Bills only

Imphal, July 24 2012:
The Governor of Manipur has given his assent to four Bills out of the total six passed during the recently concluded second session of 10th Manipur State Legislative Assembly.
According to an official source, in all six Bills were passed by the second session of 10th Manipur State Legislative Assembly recently.
They are The Manipur Appropriation Bill, 2012; The Manipur Municipalities (Sixth Amendment) Bill, 2012; The Manipur Value Added Tax (First Amendment) Bill, 2012; The Manipur Panchayati Raj (Seventh Amendment) Bill, 2012; The Manipur Protection of Interest of Depositors (in Finance Establishments) Bill, 2012 and The Manipur Parliamentary Secretary (Appointment, Salary and Allowance and Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill, 2012 .
Among the six Bills passed by the State Assembly, the Governor gave his assent to The Manipur Appropriation Bill, 2012 on July 20 while The Manipur Municipalities (Sixth Amendment Bill), 2012; The Manipur Value Added Tax (First Amendment Bill), 2012 and The Manipur Panchayati Raj (Seventh Amendment) bill, 2012 were approved on July 23, the source disclosed.
The source further informed that the process for publication of the Gazette notification of the Bills approved by the Governor is underway.
The Bills would become Acts and the same would be implemented in the state soon after publication of the Gazette notification.
