Dr S Ranjan provides relief material again

Imphal, May 08 2020: In an effort to overcome foodgrain shortage, MLA Konthoujam A/C Dr Sapam Ranjan provided relief materials to the people of his Constituency yet again.

This is the 4th round of distributing relief materials since the imposition of nationwide lockdown, it informed.

Foodgrains and essential items of edible oils, potatoes, onion and chillies were handed over to every households of six polling stations under Ngairangbam, Khumbong and Khaidem villages today, although he is presently staying at New Delhi.

Attending the distribution programme, Ch Bijenti ex-Zilla Parishad and villagers of the locality thanked and showed their heartfelt gratitude to Dr Sapam Ranjan for providing the relief materials time and again during this period of lockdown and hardship faced by our people.

MLA Bira distributes goods to Kalibari residents
MLA of Kumbi Assembly Constituency Sanasam Bira provided essential items of 5/5 kgs rice, 2/2 kgs potato, onion, edible oil and salt to around 100 Bengali households living in Kalibari, Thangal Bazaar.

The MLA also informed that relief items have already been distributed to people of his Constituency.

AMUCO continues relief distribution
AMUCO, led by its president Ph Nando Luwang continued to extend help to those staying in rents by providing essential items to them.

2kgs of rice was distributed to 14 individuals in Singjamei Leishangthem Leikai, 6 in Chinga Makha and 6 others in Sagolband Tera Bazaar.

Helping each other during the time of crisis is an important act of humanity.

This was stated by H Balkrisna Singh, Director, Information & Public Relations, Government of Manipur.

He further said that as a citizen of this country, one should not wait for the support of the Government.

We must rise to the occasion to help each other in the hour of need unconditionally and unilaterally.

He was speaking during a distribution of relief materials to the villagers of S Molnom Village, Kangpokpi District, today organized by Bharat Vikas Parishad, Manipur in collaboration with Saheed Madhumangol Foundation, Imphal.

was handed over to the village chief.

An awareness programme was also conducted on measures to prevent the spread of COVID 19 and to ensure safety.

Dr N Hemanta Singh, Specialist, Neuro-Medicine and Dr S Joybi spoke as resource persons.

Haokhotinlen Vaiphei, village chief and chairman of the Village Authority expressed his gratitude on the act of solidarity shown during the time of suffering.

As a gesture of gratitude, the Village Authority also handed over vegetables grown at the village to the visiting team.

L Ashok Kumar, Dy Director (HQ), DIPR, Government of Manipur, S Premananda Sharma, VP, BJP, S Naba Sharma, Convenor, Relief Committee, Saheed Madhumangol Foundation, S Pritam Singh, Proprietor, Eastern Motors & Philanthropist, representatives of Saheed Madhumangol Foundation and several villagers were present at the programme.

PPCM carries on philanthropy works
In continuation of its relief activity on account of the Nationwide lockdown due to COVID-19, Protection and Preservation Committee, Manipur (PPCM) has reached out to the villagers of Nungshai Chiru today with edibles.

Having extended relief materials to economical weaker villages of different communities like Khongman Tangkhul; Ting Tong (T Saijang) village; Purum Likli village; Koireng villages of Sadu, Awang Nongya and Utonglok; Thangal Surung and orphans living with HIV-AIDS, PPCM presented 6 bags of rice and 2 bags of salt, potatoes and onions each to the people of Nungshai Chiru through its village authority.

The team of the committee who were on the noble mission was also presented back with vegetables and edibles grown in the village, said a statement of PPCM.

Such activity will further strengthen the relation between communities and ultimate make the State a peaceful and harmonious place, the statement said while adding that the items presented by the villagers of Nungshai Chiru including ching lafu (banana) and Chiru Maroi (onion) were handed over to Imphal West SP, K Meghachandra for distribution to frontline warriors.
