Imphal, December 06 2019:
Newly elected officer bearers of Naga People's Front (NPF), Manipur State unit were administered the oath of office and secrecy today.
Notably, NPF State unit president Awangbow Newmai has been already elected to the same post for another five year term (2020-2025) .
The oath taking ceremony was held at the Kanglatongbi residence of Awangbow Newmai.
Other officer bearers of NPF Manipur unit for the term 2020-2024, district level units, area units and frontal bodies and wings were also administered the oath of office and secrecy by the newly re-elected State unit party president.
The office bearers include MLA K Leishiyo (Phungyar AC), ex-MLA ST Victor Nunghlung (Chandel AC) and ex-MLA Alexander Pao (Karong AC) .
Speaking at the gathering, Awangbow Newmai said that NPF, since becoming a part of the coalition Government, has been working to bring peace and unity among different communities of the State and also to resolve all types of conflicts.
However, NPF did not highlight all its activities to the public for it is not a party obsessed with publicity, Awangbow said.
Yet, NPF has been working hard to make Manipur a peaceful and progressive State even though many people see NPF with a misplaced notion.
Compared to three years back, Manipur today is quite different.
Now, there is peace in the State, Awangbow said.
To bring positive changes is a commitment of NPF.
NPF MLAs have been talking about peace on the floor of the Manipur Legislative Assembly but nobody seems to have any idea about how to bring peace in the State.
What the NPF MLAs said in the State Assembly fell on deaf ears.
The 60 MLAs represent all the 28 lakh people of the State and they do not represent the interest of any community exclusively, said the NPF State unit president.
Now NPF has an MP and he has been speaking for all the hill areas of Manipur as well as the entire North East region, Awangbow claimed.
He went on to pledge that NPF Manipur State unit would continue to work with dedication for welfare of all the people of Manipur.
