Imphal, December 06 2019:
L Chaoba Devi, Modhuchandra and N Ibungo have been sidelined by AMFA (All Manipur Football Association) executive council for a period of 6 months with immediate effect.
The development came after Football Referee Welfare Committee (FRWC), Manipur boycotted football tournament organised by AMFA from December 2 as AMFA had failed to meet their demand.
FRWC was demanding an appropriate action in connection with an on-field incident after a match of 10th AMFA Senior Women Football League for BM Singh Trophy between KRYPHSA and MPSC on October 18.An emergency meeting of AMFA executive council was called on December 6 to look into the matter and after having a thorough discussion, it was resolved to sideline three individuals namely, L Chaoba Devi, who is also an AMFA executive council member for using abusive language and pushing referee in the field after the match; Ksh Modhuchandra Singh, match commissioner and N Ibungo, Centre referee for not submitting match report in time.
AMFA executive council also discussed about the non turning up of match officials for the match of 10th AMFA Senior Women Football League for BM Singh Trophy scheduled on October 22, without any information which forced the postponement of the match and caused incongruities to the teams.
Considering the above fact, AMFA has also served a show cause notice demanding an explanation on or before December 10 why stern actions should not be initiated against them.
