24th Winners' Cup : MPSC set up final date with KIYC after 2-1 aggregate win over LYGSEDA

MPSC earned a 2-1 aggregate finish against LYGSEDA, Longpi with a 2-0 today at its home ground MPTC ground, in the second leg of the last semi-final match of the Thangjam Birachandra-Maipakpi Memorial 24th Winners' Cup 2019 being organised under the aegis of All Manipur Football Association.
Having suffered a 0-1 loss in the hands of LYGSEDA in the first leg at Khupjam Ground, MPSC had to make a cautious effort and successfully overturned the table on its side by winning 2-0 win today with both the goals coming up in the first half.
MPSC took 13 minutes to open up the account as Mangholen managed to beat the keeper.
LYGSEDA also replied back to keep their title run alive but were denied by already alert defence line of MPSC aided by exceptional performance of the team's custodian at the goalline.
To MPSC's delight, Pameshor completed the turnaround in the 45th minute and make it 2-0 till the break.
LYGSEDA made an all out attack after the restart but it hardly threatened MPSC, who concentrated mostly in holding their lead and made counter attack whenever they got the opportunity.
As the Longpi side failed to make the most of their chances, MPSC went home 2-0 and completed the 2-1 aggregate win to set up final date with KIYC, Kshetri Iril Mapal.
