State records 14 new COVID-19 cases with CCpur leading with five

Imphal, June 05 2020:
Fourteen new COVID-19 positive cases were recorded in the State today taking the total tally to 138 while 50 COVID-19 patients have recovered so far.
According to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, 8 individuals tested positive for COVID-19 at RIMS today.
Another 6 tested positive at JNIMS.
Of the six people who tested positive at JNIMS, five are from Churachandpur, reports our correspondent.
Details of the other (sixth) case are not yet known with JNIMS not providing any inputs on this point.

This is the second highest spike in the district and all the 5 are Mumbai returnees and are from two quarantine centres.
With the five cases, the district's tally now stands at 30 .
Earlier the district had seen a double digit spike on a single day with 16 people testing positive some days back.
The current active case at Churachandpur stands at 14 as 16 people have already recovered.
Three of the five cases that came positive are from JNV Tuinom CQC, while the remaining two are from St Paul Institute QC, New Lamka.
The two centres are expected to be declared as containment zones sometime tomorrow as the District Magistrate today declared the same for Young Learner's School where one positive case was detected yesterday.
Meanwhile the CMO mobile sample collection team has collected 207 samples from various quarantine facilities in the district today even as 53 people have been discharged from different facilities.
On the other hand, of the eight who tested positive at RIMS, five are males and the other three are females.
Two of the males are residents of Imphal West district, four are residents of Kamjong district and they include two three year old boys, one six year old girl and a 31 year old woman, one (female) belongs to Ukhrul district and the 8th one (male) belongs to Jiribam district.
The residents of Kamjong district returned from Mumbai, the Jiribam resident came back from Deoband, UP and the Ukhrul resident came back from Delhi.
The two residents of Imphal West district came back from Bengaluru and Delhi.
The details of the six persons have not yet been provided by JNIMS till the time of filing this report.
The same press release asked all the people who returned by train up to Jiribam to give travel history to the officials in-charge of their respective quarantine centres.
Meanwhile, two individuals who are residents of Ukhrul and Kamjong district and had been undergoing treatment at RIMS for COVID-19 tested negative today and they were discharged.
Nine other COVID-19 patients tested negative at RIMS today.
All the eleven persons who tested negative today have been discharged from hospital.
On the other hand, 531 people arrived at Imphal today in different flights.
