HC reserves order

A Single Bench of High Court of Manipur has reserved its verdict for June 8 on petitions filed against seven MLAs for restraining them from entering the premises of Manipur Legislative Assembly.
Congress MLAs had filed the petitions seeking the High Court to restrain the seven "defected" MLAs from entering the Assembly premises and disqualify them under Anti-defection law on June 2 .
The petitions were filed by MLA K Meghachandra against MLA Ngamthang Haokip of Saitu AC, MLA O Henry against MLA Ksh Biren of Lamlai AC, MLA K Govindas against MLA Paonam Brojen of Wangjing-Tentha AC, MLA DD Thaisi against MLA Y Surchandra of Kakching AC, MLA Kh Joykisan against MLA Sanasam Bira of Kumbi AC, MLA O Surjakumar against MLA O Lukhoi of Wangoi AC and MLA K Ranjit against MLA Ginsuanhau of Singhat AC .
The order was kept reserved for June 8 by Justice Kh Nobin after hearing the submissions of both the petitioners and respondents.
It may be noted that the same Court had granted time to file counter affidavits to the seven "defected" MLAs on May 28 and listed the matter for further hearing on June 10 .
