Three persons who have been accused of dealing in tobacco products and Mithamana in defiance of the ban of the proscribed outfit RPF surrendered to the outfit yesterday.
The accused persons identified as Brajabashimayum Aken (39) s/o late Manisana of Moirangkhom Makha Loklaobung Thong, Aribam Dayamoi (40) s/o late Achou of Yumnam Leikai and Akoijam Geeta (38) w/o Ibocha of Nagamapal Singjubung Leirak were paraded before mediapersons yesterday.
The outfit had on May 20 asked them to surrender.
a spokesperson of the outfit had said that while Aken has been banned for life from running his shop, Dayamoi and Geeta should shut down their shops for six months.
The two accused men were also whipped 10 times while the hair of the accused woman was tonsured as punishment for defying the ban of the outfit.
The outfit had earlier asked one Mithamana supplier identified as Hari Sharma (34) s/o Churamani of Leimakhong Bazar and one shopkeeper identified as Sanatomba of Loklaobung to surrender.
But both are yet to give.
