Imphal, October 10:
Despite the State Planning Department asking all the departments to submit work status reports by today, with the exception of a few, most Departments have failed to comply to the instructions.
Chief Secretary Jarnail Singh had asked the Departments to submit relevant reports of plan schemes being implemented during the current fiscal year 2006-07 by September 30.A reliable source informed that a meeting of Commissioners, Secretaries and Heads of Department presided by Chief Minister O Ibobi would be held on October 13.In view of the meeting, all Departments have been strictly instructed to submit work status reports to the CM or the Chief Secretary by October 12 at the latest.
Taking into account unsatisfactory work progress in the last six months, the Chief Secretary issued the instructions as there is strong apprehension for decrease in the next plan amount from the fiscal year's annual plan outlay amount of Rs 1195 crores, disclosed the source.
In addition to percentage of work progress and status of plan schemes being implemented, the State Planning Department has asked for details of work schemes for the remaining six months on monthly basis for which Departments concerned have been supplied printed formats.
