CM's Hill People's Day charms hill people

The initiative of Chief Minister Nongthongbam Biren to set aside a day to meet the people of the hill districts on Hill People’s Day has goes down well with the hill people of the State .
It is not only the meeting with the Chief Minister but the hospitality of the staff which has really gone down well with the people .
“I have never met such a friendly Chief Minister and such a polite and hospitable staff” stated 70 year old Dr Sarah Kashung, Chairman of the Managing Board of Alice Christian College, Ukhrul.
Sarah Kashung met the Chief Minister on the third Hill People’s Day on July 10 .
Talking to the media at Ukhrul today, the elderly lady mentioned the friendly atmosphere of the CM’s office and the friendly Chief Minister .
"I have never experienced this kind of reception in my life.
We were first made to wait at a big hall according to our appointment serial number.
There, we were served water and juice.
We were again served tea and snacks by the polite staff.
What is again more impressive is the friendly Oja Biren whose humbleness and readiness to help is simply beyond words," stated the elderly lady who met the Chief Minister along with the Pastor of the oldest Church in Manipur – Phungyo Baptist Church .
Headman of Kachai village , Khamshang RS also vouched the humbleness of the Chief Minister and his staff .
"I got a chance to visit the CM’s office, which I earlier thought was an impenetrable fort for poor people and met the CM which I earlier considered was out of bounds, only because of Hill People’s Day," he added.
