Imphal, January 10 2016:
As part of
its endeavours to bridge the gap
between the hill and valley
dwellers and foster unity
among all people, the All
Manipur United Clubs'
Organisation (AMUCO) has
extended assistance to villagers
of Taningjam.
Taningjam is located about
80 Kms away from the State
capital in Tousem subdivision
of Tamenglong district.
A six-member team of
AMUCO comprising of its
vice-president W Gonendro,
publicity secy, S Jameskumar
and former general secy NC
Modhuchandra visited
Taningjam and extended assistance
to the villagers
yesterday.
The AMUCO team donated
rice, pulse and other
materials to the villagers.
Chairman of Taningjam
Village Authority TR Ringthining
received the materials
from AMUCO in a simple
function held at the village.
Addressing the villagers,
W Gonendro alleged that benefits and other assistance meant especially for the
tribal by the Indian Government and State Government are all
looted by the concerned local MLAs before reaching the beneficiaries.
Such actions from local representative are the main reason
for the on-going blame game between the hill and valley.
In
order to plug the hill-valley gap, people of both sides should
join hands and work as one, shedding the differences of the
past, he added.
He further urged the villagers to unite as one and work for
the integrity of Manipur.
