Imphal, July 17: Two members of the Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) including its finance secretary were killed in an encounter with another unidentified armed group at Senjam Charang around 11 kms south-east of Sekmai police station at around 10 last night.

One of the victims has been identified as Loitongbam Brojen alias Bope alias Halfpant alias Apanba (30) of Kwakeithel Konjeng Leikai presently staying at his mother�s home at Mongsangei.

He is said to be finance secretary of the KCP factions led by KK Mangang.

He received a bullet near his left eye.

Post mortem has been conducted on the body.

Family members said that Apanba joined the outfit five years back.

The second body has been kept at the RIMS mortuary for identification.

He could be in between 20 to 25 years of age and is of fair complexion and tall.

He wore a T-shirt stripped with white, blue and green colour and had a black track pant.

He was hit at his right eyebrow and chest.

A source identified the victim as one Krishna of Moreh ward no.7.Police recovered five live rounds of M-16 ammunition and some empty cases of 9 mm pistol from the site of the incident.

The Sekmai Lamsang Kendra Apunba Nupi Tengbang Lup has termed the incident as unfortunate and appealed to the groups concerned not to kill blood brothers in view of the prevailing situation in the state.

Meanwhile, unidentified gunmen shot death a 55 year old man identified as Waikhom Babudhon Singh s/o late W Abu of Sekta Makha Leikai at Sekta Mayai Leikai at around 6.30 this evening.

Sources said Babudhon, an alleged member of the then PAL Manipur Youth League died on the spot when the pillion rider of Yamaha motorcycle sprayed a volley of bullets fro an automatic rifle at him.

The killers escaped on the motorcycle.

The rifle wielding youth wore a black pant and a stripped T-shirt.

The victim received at least six to seven bullets all over his body.

Minutes after the incident, hundreds of residents congregated in the area and condemned the killing.

They have also clarification from the killers, the source added.

In yet another incident one 30 year old man was murdered by unknown persons at Lamjao under Waikhong Police station in Thoubal district last night.

Police found an injury mark on his back.
