AR conducts Veteran Samparak Sammelan

The 44 Assam Rifles of 22 Sector/IGAR (E) on Saturday organised a virtual Veteran Samparak Sam-melan for the Veterans and Veer Naries of Tamenglong district to commemorate the death anniversary of Field Marshal KM Cariappa.
According to a PIB (DW) release, the unit reached out to the veterans over video calls and checked their well being.
This year on the occasion of International Family Day, the unit endeavoured to learn about some of the social, economic, and demographic factors impacting families of the veterans who are part of the extended family of the unit in the civil society of Tamenglong, the release said, adding that some important welfare measures undertaken by the government during the year amidst the COVID pandemic were highlighted to the attendees.
The veterans were also briefed on Swarnim Vijay Varsh being celebrated throughout the year to honour those veterans who played significant role in winning the 1971 war.
It further informed that veterans and their family were extended telemedicine facility by providing instant medical advice by the unit doctors, nurses and para medical staff.
The COVID Appropriate Behaviour and related precautionary measures too were shared with them, the release added.
