MOMA starts home delivery of Litchi, papaya

Imphal, May 22 2021:
In view of the difficulties faced by the people in getting edible items and the inability of farmers to sell their products due to COVID-19 induced curfew, Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA) started collecting products from farmers to make them available to the public.
MOMA took up the initiative under the guidance of chief minister N Biren Singh and the agency had made available litchi and papaya to public on home delivery mode.
While the agency collect-ed/purchased 10,000 Litchi from Jiribam, it also collected 12,000 kg papaya from a farm at Kangu Chingjin, Imphal East.
Cashewnut Development officer of state horticulture department stationed at Jiribam Kh Lokhon took keen initiative in purchasing the litchi and sending the same to Imphal.
Upon learning that huge ripe papaya grown in an integrated farm named Lik-Lam led by Pangabam Jayshanker could not be sold due to COVID-19 induced curfew, MOMA project director K Devdutta Sharma purchased around 12,000 kg of papaya and made available the same to public through home delivery mode.
