Freed on PR Bond

Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal West today released 25 year old Thiyam Sheetanboss, the administrator of Facebook group Manipur Mirror, after executing a PR bond of Rs 50,000 along with one surety like amount after he was produced before the Court by a team of Manipur Cyber Crime police station .
Thiyam Sheetanboss (25) s/o Th Rajdhon of Thiyam Konjin Mamang Leikai was produced before the Court with a prayer for 10 days police custody after he was arrested at around 9.30 am, today.
On the other hand, the counsel of Thiyam Sheetanboss filed a remand objection before the Court .
According to the police prayer, a complaint was lodged by an individual stating that her daughter participated in a Thabal Chongba event at New Delhi, organised by MACHU (an on-line entertainment website based in Delhi) and during the Thabal Chongba event, one Thiyam Sheetanboss took photographs of her daughter and uploaded it on his Facebook group Manipur Mirror .
According to the complainant, the photographs, in which his daughters' undergarments were clearly visible, were uploaded and published in the Facebook group without any consent thus violating her privacy .
During the course of the investigation, the timeline of the group Manipur Mirror was thoroughly checked.
The accused was summoned before the police station where he confessed to the charges levelled against him .
He disclosed that he had clicked around 10 photos with a camera which belonged to one of his friends working as a male nurse in a Delhi hospital .
He also stated that he had uploaded the photos on his Facebook group the morning after the Thabal Chongba event but claimed that he deleted the photos after receiving complaints from the victim who pointed out that the images were defamatory .
However, he claimed that by then there was no way for him to stop the photos from going viral on the social media sites .
The Court heard the counsels of both sides and released the accused after executing a PR bond of Rs 50,000 along with a surety like amount, He was also directed to cooperate with the investigation team and not to tamper any evidences related to the incident .
He was also directed to appear before the Court on December 8 .
