Decks cleared for Hornbill Festival

Kohima, November 29 2017:
Hornbill Festival is all set to start at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama, near Kohima on Friday, December 1.President of India, Ram Nath Kovind will grace the mega event.
For this, the President will arrive at the State capital on Thursday .
Meanwhile, Chief Minister TR Zeliang today paid a visit to Naga Heritage Village, Kisama to inspect the ongoing preparations for the ten-day Hornbill Festival.
He was accompanied by Parliamentary Secretaries and senior Government officials .
Meanwhile, a rehearsal by various cultural troupes was also conducted in the Amphitheater in the presence of the Chief Minister .
Like every year, this year's Hornbill Festival is also expected to witness a large number of foreign as well as domestic tourists.
Most hotels in the State capital Kohima and adjoining towns are said to have been booked in advance by tourists .
Several events will also be held in Dimapur, Mokokchung and other places.
Popular pop band Boney M will perform on December 10 at the Hornbill Festival .
Chief Minister of Manipur, N Biren Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for MoRTH, Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Defence Minister, Dr Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for DoNER, Justice Ranjan Gogoi, Judge of Supreme Court, Smriti Irani, Union Minister for Textiles, Information & Broadcasting and Mahesh Sharma, Minister of State for Culture, Chief Minister of Assam, Sarbananda Sonowal and Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Pema Khandu have been invited to his year's Hornbill Festival.
