Kakching, July 24 2021:
As large number of people turned out to get Covid vaccine at Community Health Centre (CHC), Kakching, the management team of the health centre faced inconvenience in controlling the people on Saturday.
People seem to forget Covid-19 SOP guidelines and social distancing norms in their attempt to get vaccinated.
In all, 592 people were inoculated at the centre.
Most of the people who came for vaccination at the Health Centre were in the age group of 45 to 60 years and they were scheduled to receive the second dose of the vaccine.
Even though there was very low turnout in mass vaccination camp held in several parts of the state, many people failed to get inoculated at CHC Kakching due to large turnout.
Aged people queued up at the centre from 9.30 in the morning.
Security personnel posted on duty at the centre, vaccination team and ASHA workers faced inconveniences in trying to control such large number of people eager to get vaccinated.
The vaccination also could not be done rapidly despite being conducted by six medical personnel because of internet problem.
Due to the slow process, many of the people also went to Urban Primary Health Centre located at Kakching Wairi with some returning home dejectedly without vaccination.
An elderly person who came for his second dose urged the government to conduct special mass vaccination programmes for the elderly people who have been waiting for administering second dose of the vaccine.
