SIT nullifies appointments in VAH

Special Investigation Teams, constituted to probe recruitment in 15 departments at the fag end of previous Congress Government have submitted their reports to the Govt and departments concerned .
Five SITs were constituted in June this year to probe whether the recruitment conducted in 2016-17 by different departments violated the Election Code of Conduct or not .
The SITs investigated the recruitments conducted in 15 Depts such as Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution (CAF&PD), Education (S), Statistics, Forest and Environment, Finance, GAD, Health and Family Welfare, Higher Education, Home, Police, IT, MI, PWD, Revenue, Rural Development and Veterinary and Animal Husbandry .
A team of each SIT were led by Additional CS Dr Suhel Akhtar, Principal Secretary MH Khan, Principal Secretary Letkhogin Haokip, Commissioner T Pamei and Commissioner H Deleep .
A highly reliable source said that the Chief Secretary chaired series of meetings with officials of the concerned departments after the SITs submitted their report.
After necessary clarifications from the department concerned, the recommendations of the SITs have been submitted to the Govt .
Based on the reports submitted by the SITs, Department of Personnel (DP) has issued directions to the concerned departments .
The SIT reportedly recommended cancellation of the recruitments in Veterinary and Animal Husbandry except that of Veterinary Assistant.
It also made recommendation for cancellation of recruitments in Rural Development and Panchayati Raj other than Programme Assistant, the source said .
Meanwhile, the SIT has okayed all the recruitments in the Revenue Department.
Other than the recruitment of Forester, the SIT has reportedly approved other recruitments in the Forest and Environment Dept .
The SIT also reportedly gave approval to all recruitments in GAD and Treasury Depts .
Regarding the recruitments in Education (S) and PWD, the DP has given directions to the departments concerned .
Action has already been taken in some departments as per the recommendations of the SITs, the source added.
