Sister Nivedita Birth Anniversary

Mahila Morcha BJP Manipur today commemorated the Birth Anniversary of Sister Nivedita, a Scots-Irish Social worker who dedicated her life for the welfare of the Country.
The celebration was marked by state-wide Swachh Bharat Abhiyan organized by Mahila Morcha unit of BJP in every Mandal.
The main cleanliness event took place on the roadside of Central Agricultural University in Iroisemba, said a release of Naorem Ibemcha Devi, President of Mahila Morcha, BJP Manipur Pradesh.
Over 20 Mahila Morcha members led by Smt Naorem Ibemcha Devi, State Mahila Morcha President were present at the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, N Ibemcha said that today's event is a tribute to the great social worker who has dedicated her life for the poor and downtrodden.
Every state observes the event under the leadership of National Mahila Morcha President, Smt Vijaya Rahatkar.
Various Mandals which observed the Cleanliness event were Keishamthong, Lamsang, Thangmeiband, Khundrakpam, Jiribam, Ukhrul and Churachandpur Mandals.
Braving the irate weathers, the Mahila Morcha members came out to observe the Birth Anniversary.
Some Mandals will continue the observation later on.
Such participation of women in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan will empower women and will helped the contribution of women in Nation building, added the release.
