Essential items distributed in C-zones, CHICs

Individuals and organisations continued to extend assistance in the form of edibles and safety kits to families living in containment zones as well as working at Community Home Isolation Centre.
Continuing with the act of benevolence, over 50 families in different parts of Lamlai assembly constituency such as Nongren, Nongpok Kakching, Oksu Ningthemcha, Saabungkhok, Yaingangpokpi and Sanasabi were distributed edibles, hand sanitiser, etc., by BJP Manipur Pradesh State Council member and COVID 2nd Wave Fighting Task Force Lamlai Mandal chairman Khongbantabam Ibomcha.
He also extended cash assistance to local volunteers of Nongpok Kakching and Oksu Ningthemcha villages who are working to contain the spread of the pandemic.
BJP Kisan Morcha vice president and party's Medical Cell convenor Dr Ksh Kala also distributed edibles to 21 households in Sawombung bazar and 3 families in Sarouthel village - both under Khundrakpam AC, through the COVID-19 Task Force.
Dr Kala also urged the Task Force volunteers to advise the locals to change the face mask after every two days to prevent COVID-19 induced fungus infections.
Meanwhile, Social Upliftment Organisation, Singjamei Top Leikai provided essential items to around 100 households in Singjamei AC under the aegis of Manipur Legislative Assembly speaker Y Khemchand while Khangabok MLA Surjakumar Okram handed over face mask, hand sanitiser and medicines for both healthcare workers and inmates of the Community Home Isolation Centre (CHIC) opened at Lamding Higher Secondary School for the Khangabok AC on Saturday in connection with the 30th death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
The MLA also arranged the day's meal for Covid-19 infected persons recuperating at the Centre.
On the other-hand, office bearers of BJP Keirao Mandal handed over face mask, hand sanitiser and cash assistance for use by volunteers and patients of the CHIC set up at State TB Hospital, Keirao Wangkhem on behalf the local MLA Lou-rembam Rameshwar.
