DMU staffers donate to CM CRF, FEGOGTA to follow suit

Imphal, May 22 2021:
The administrative staff, teaching faculty and non-teaching staff members of Dhanamanjuri University and its five constituent colleges namely DM College of Science, DM College of Arts, DM College of Commerce, GP Women's College and LMS Law College, donated one day's salary amounting to Rs 14 lakh to the Chief Minister's Covid-19 Relief Fund (CM CRF) on Saturday.
In a statement, DMU vice-chancellor Prof N Rajmuhon Singh conveyed gratitude to all the employees of the varsity and the constituent colleges for their generosity and enthusiasm to help the government tackle the pandemic crisis.
Meanwhile, Federation of Government College Teachers' Associations (FEGOGTA), the apex body of the Government College Teachers, Manipur has decided to donate one-day salary to the CMCRF.
According to FEGOGTA general secretary Dr N Somorendro Singh, decision to contribute the CM CRF was taken during an online FEGOGTA Executive Committee meeting held on May 11 & 12 in response to the appeal made by CM Covid-19 Relief Fund, Fund Drive Committee convenor MP Dr R K Ranjan.
While recounting that FEGOGTA had also donated one-day salary to the CM CRF in 2020, the general secretary stressed the need for both citizens and government employees to contribute their mite and extend all possible support to the government and stakeholders in saving precious lives and protecting the people against the pandemic.
FEGOGTA also appealed to students and public to take extra care and stay safe by following Covid Appropriate Behaviour.
