Indian army celebrate ID-Day with Chinese PLA

Imphal, August 16 2015:
Troops of Indian Army and People's Libration Army (PLA), China jointly celebrated the Indian Independence Day at a ceremonial Border Personnel Meeting held at Kibithu near Walong in India-China LAC on Saturday.
The Meeting was held on the Indian side of LAC which 30 delegates of PLA persons participated in the Independence Day.

The celebration of important National days/ festivals is part of the mutually accepted decisions after the recently concluded Border Defence Cooperation Agreement.
A Colourful cultural show was organised by the Indian side to commemorate the occasion.

In a significant development the families of few PLA officials also participated in the celebrations.
Such interactions between local military commanders would helpful in enhancing mutual understanding and co-operation at the functional level and it would also help to maintain peace and tranquillity along the LAC.
