BJP team heads to Delhi

Imphal, March 01 2013:
An 18-member team of BJP, Manipur Pradesh left Imphal for New Delhi on Friday to attend the BJP National Council Meeting to be held from March 2 to 3 in the national capital.
The team led by Manipur BJP unit president Th Chaoba includes senior party leaders like Prof Gangumei Kamei, M Bhorot, L Shantikumar Sharma, N Ibohal, Robi Black and S Satyabhama Devi.
Before leaving Imphal, party president Chaoba told reporters that during the BJP National Council meeting, the state BJP delegation will put up issues confronting the state like drug smuggling, National Highways, PDS system, Municipal Council and Panchayat Raj system.
Apart from this, the delegation will also urge the party Central leaders to raise the issue of drug trafficking in Manipur in the current Parliament session.
It would also urge the Central BJP leaders to discuss the harassment including physical assaults meted out to the Northeast students studying in other major cities of India, he added.
