DIET exam candidates to be exempted Gen strike paralyses SH, Senapati

The 48 hrs general strike imposed along National Highway 2 in Senapati district paralyzed traffic and normal life in Sadar Hills and Senapati district today.
The general strike is being imposed by All Senapati District Candidates Parents Body of Manipur Police Constable 2013 Batch from yesterday midnight in Senapati district while it was fully endorsed by Thadou Students' Association- GHQs along the highway in Sadar Hills.
The Imphal-Dimapur road along NH-2 in Sadar Hills and Senapati wore a deserted look while business establishments in Senapati DHQ remained closed throughout the day.
It is reported that Government offices both in Sadar Hills and Senapati witnessed minimal attendance due to the general strike.
However, educational institutions were exempted in Sadar Hills and Senapati as well.

It was also reported that three vehicles were damaged at different locations in Sadar Hills early morning at Keithelmanbi, Kholep and Motbung along the highway allegedly for defying the strike.
Volunteers were seen at Maram, Karong, Senapati DHQs and Mt Everest junction along Imphal-Dimapur road in Senapati district while in Sadar Hills volunteers were seen at Keithelmanbi, Kholep, Motbung and Gamgiphai.

No.AS02AC- 0478 heading towards Imphal from Dimapur side was badly damaged near Karong bridge in Senapati district by the bandh volunteers.
Later, Senapati police rushed to the spot and rescued the vehicle.
The volunteers, however, relaxed the strike for emergency services like medical, media, power, airport, religious ceremonies.
Meanwhile, TSA-GHQs reiterated its endorsement of the 48 hrs general strike called by the All Senapati District Candidates Parents Body of Manipur Police Constable 2013 Batch along the highway in Sadar Hills and urged the State Government to initiate measures to solve the issue amicably at the earliest.
It also said that the Association will wholeheartedly enforce the strike again tomorrow in Sadar Hills and seek public cooperation considering the alleged wrong decision of the State Government in cancelling the DPC and the grievances of the aggrieved candidates.
In the meantime, frontal civil organizations of Senapati district appealed for exemption of the DIET appearing candidates from the purview of the general strike tomorrow.
The candidates will be coming from different parts of the State at Senapati Centre.
JAC Police Constable Written Test Successful Candidates 2013 Batch Sadar Hills announced late in the evening its decision to relax the general strike for DIET appearing candidates tomorrow on the condition that admit card will be strictly verified before giving free passage.
The JAC secretary, Soson said that three diesel autos were damaged today during the strike for violating the bandh while emergency services were relaxed after due verification.
While appealing the public to obey and respect the protest considering their grievances, Soson further said that the general strike will be enforced well again tomorrow but apart from other emergency services, DIET appearing candidates will be exempted from the purview of the strike after proper verification of the their admit card.
